Default Question about Shavarath & Soloing

Are any of you sorcs soloing quests out in Shavarath and if so what spells and tactics are you using? I've done some soloing on my FVS out there and didn't have any problems with it, but now I'd like to try it on my WF Sorc (currently 18).

The last quest I need out there to flag is Sins, and although I could easily do it in a group I'd really like to try and solo it. I can do it easily on my FVS with Blade Barriers and Wings.

When i do sins I just pull as many mobs as I can then coc them all. Works nice in those small hallways. Torc is great in there also.

I don't know if they've been changed much, but when the quests first came out I was able to land mass hold and mass suggestion about 50/50. So long as your DC's are killer you'll be OK.

Irresistible Dance works too, you just have to bypass SR.

Webs + Waves also worked, but was more for group play.

A lot of the stuff out there can be stealthed by as well. You'll need a little bit of ranks and/or good ninja equipment but it's doable.

I don't know if you'll be able to simply blast your way through with polar ray as I didn't have the sp or glaciation to make that strategy viable. **** you sorcs and your endless mana...

I have really only tried it on one of my sorcs (conjuration/electric). With her, I gather as many mobs as possible (like a lot a lot cause I'm not WF), and create as tight a zone as possible to put about 4 webs right on top of each other. Usually two passes and they are all trapped right on top of each other. Then slam a couple ball lightnings (chain lightning on a good day) into them. Rinse and repeat.

That's how I go about it. Do make sure you have a high DC for CoC or you will end up spending a lot of mana.

Yes, this is the whole reason I went double evoc focus on my WF Sorc. Ball lightning is also nice.

When I used to run Shavarath often on Asp, I had double evocation focus and full fire/cold and acid/electric. For sins, I cast invisibility and ran to wherever I wanted to go, except in the few cases you have to kill the enemy. Mostly, I just ran, invisible, until I was where I wanted to be and made sure my damage buffs were up. Then turn and start to unleash the wrath of hell on everything, spamming Prismatic Spray, Cone of Cold, Ball Lightning, and Chain Lightning. Everything died fairly quickly, and I went on with my business of running invisible.

I originally was in the same boat several months ago when I took my first sorcerer into amrath. It totally knocked the wind out of me. A new sorcerer I rolled not too long ago solos marvelously there at least on normal now.

What I did was specced nuking and got him a torc. He relies on several damage boost clickies. Sins runs take him 7-9 minutes usually. His gear IS NOT stellar, and hes a little low on the DC side, but he gets the job done nicely.

http://my.ddo.com/character/thelanis/saedret/ to give you an idea what I am talking about.

So far he has soloed Sins, New Invasion, Bastion, Weapons Shipment, and Wrath, but I usually just stick to sins for the fast easy runs for ingredients.

Ball Lightning, COC, Polar Ray, Reconstruct...all you really need. Use a pair of disruptors for the cinderspawns, and vorpals for the efreeti.

No its not the best possible sorc build for soloing shavarath, but it gets the job done nicely. The torc is nice, but not really needed.

Thanks for all of the input!! I also like Sins because it is such a fast run on my FVS and was hoping I could use my Sorc in there. I think my DC should be ok, I have the Wizzard Past Life Feat for +1 DC and the Reaver Cloak for another. Have Skiver, Potency Items, as well as VOD Bracers and Gloves with max enhancement for Fire/Cold Spells. I also carry Ball Lightening, so I should be able to cycle COC and Ball Lightening. I was planning on using Invis, Rage, Jump, Displacement, Haste, and Stoneskin to run to each mandatory fight location and like Asp said, "rain down hell on everything."

Thanks for the spell selection help, better than trial and error.
