Default 2 levels of pally viable or not?

just wondering if a 18 FvS/2 pally build is viable or not on a melee char. Thinking the saves would help alot, plus the use of all weapons and armor aint bad either. just wondering

    Problems with fvs18/pal2:
    1. Favored Soul already has good saving throws, so often the bonus won't help.
    2. Favored Soul doesn't want high charisma in the same way a Sorcerer does.
    3. Favored Soul has bonuses with certain weapons, so martial proficiency doesn't add much.
    4. Level 19-20 of Favored Soul provides some pretty nice features.

I personally wouldn't do fvs18/pal2, and would be more inclined to fvs18/monk2. But your idea is reasonable to try.

I wouldn't want to miss on the FvS capstone for any reason, it is one of the few that are really worth it. Other than evasion from 2monk, I really can't think of anything that is more beneficial than the FvS cap, and even the monk spalsh has been debated over and over. 2Pally gets you better saves(FvS have good saves anyway), martial weapons (FvS get a martial weapon depending on the faith you follow), and Heavy Armor.(Mithril Full Plate works just as well if you can get ahold of it.) IMO not worth giving up the FvS capstone.

Don't do it, it's not worth it.

You would be giving up DR/10, some high end spells, and +2 cha/freespell... and not gain much in return.

Your faith will give you access to a single martial weapon, which is enough.

DR 10 is much better than a boost to the already high saves of a FvS.

There is no gain if you could make a save even with a rolled -8.

Everything I've read says unless you're solely dedicated to building and equipping for AC (as in 100+ AC), being able to wear heavy armor for it's AC benefit is pointless at end game. 10 DR > AC.

If you're going to splash, then 2 monk is the way to go. Evasion is really strong and in a feat starved class, two additional feats are highly desired. Thankfully you can LR to explore each path and stick with whichever you find more fun/useful to you.

    I have a monk/fvs andrarely fail saves outside of a 1.

the capstone is really nice, along with extra 8th and 9th spells) I would not give it up for anything other than 2 monk, and even then it's debateable.

if you have to give up pure (i did because I felt I needed feats for TWF) the evasion and 2 feats from monk are a really close. Not sure paladin gives you that level of benefit for only 2 levels.
