    Default Negative spells

    A quick question

I happened upoon a Phantasmic Masque (end reward Co6). Liked the look and the name plus it sort of fits with the reluctant necromancer my character is becoming. Played a few casters but never one that has been down the negative route as I have often wondered about what this actually means.

So what is a negative spell? This helm has Greater nullification V so that gives 40% extra damage to level V and below negative spells. Given what I might perceive as negative spells (mainly necromancy spells) there are very very few that do damage...

    So L1

Chill touch 1-6 per Caster level (pcl) max 5d6
others such as ray of enfeeblement and cause fear - no damage

    l2

Ghoul touch - no damage likewise Scare, blindness and touch of idiocy

    l3

Ray of exhaustion - no damage

    l4

Bestow curse no damage, enervation no damage

    l5

Waves of fatigue - no damage

is it me or is the negative line somewhat bereft and thus enhanced nullification is somewhat pointless at this point in time?

    Any advice or thoughts?

You're absolutely right. At the moment nullification affects one (arcane) spell only: chill touch. Eladrin has said more negative damage spells are being added with U5. Whenever that is.

Nullification also affects the divine inflict woulds/harm spells, but no use to a wizard there.
