I have the same problem. I have 7 pro 64, and 7 pro 32. No mics work for either system but do work on older OS's. Currently both computers duel booted with XP.

I run win 7 64 on a self-built PC, and my mic works fine. Can ya give us more info? does the PC see the mic? Right click on volume icon and check your recording devices. Is the mic listed and recieving? Using a standard 8mm mono mic connection (same looking plug as headphones for the last 20 years)?

If you have both, check your front and rear mic ports. Cross check every possible hardware problem (separate mics, separate ports, etc) before blaming the software.

Also, there are several versions of linux that you can boot and run from your CD drive, try one of those. If that fixes it, it's a software problem with windows. Hope this helps.

I did have a problem with a slightly loose connection on my front mic port, and if it broke connection, it couldn't recover in the same instance of DDO. I had to fully exit and restart the client to get the mic working again. Using the rear port fixed this for me.
