Will these computer specs be able to handle high settings?

Getting a new computer, need some advice...

Operating system- Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Processor- Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-750 quad-core processor [2.66GHz, 1MB L2 + 8MB shared L3 cache]
Memory- 6GB DDR3-1333MHz SDRAM [3 DIMMs] from 4GB
Hard drive- 640GB 7200 rpm SATA 3Gb/s hard drive
Graphics card- 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 220 [DVI, HDMI, VGA]

Will the above be able to handle max settings? or maybe close to max? what should I upgrade if anything, or can I even downgrade something to save money? thanks for any help.

FYI I only plan to use the computer to play DDO.

well my macbook handles everything else I need for a computer, I was saying that mainly to make sure people can answer my question without throwing in a "what else you planning on using it for" since anything else would be irrelevant.

Other than your graphics card. Everything else is pretty **** good.

Those should run this game at max settings no problem.

Personally i would upgrade my processor to an I7 because i love speed, and my graphics card to a card with DDR5 Memory.

Everything looks good except for the video... Although I'm sure it will run okay at least. I think that's the type of 'video' my wife has on her old laptop... Not sure but I do think that's an 'old' one. I would go with an ATI HD xxxx myself, but looks like your looking for various/certain output types... For your 52" Sony like my wife does sometimes?

If you are going to use this PC for DDO only, I'd back off on the HDD and put the little bit of money saved into a more powerful vid card. The 260 and 280 series are much lower than a year ago. Or, if you have more disposable income, the 400 series cards just came out. There is also the new salvo of ATi cards as well.

This is woefully underpowered and will be a serious performance bottleneck.

Ideally, the GeForce GTS 260 is the minimum you want, but the GeForce GT 240 is still over double the performance of your current suggested card.

Yeah I'd try for a GTX260 or HD4870 atleast. I use a 4870 1Gb card and run max everything at 1080p no prob. 4870's come cheap now-a-days too, got mine used for 90$!

You won't need 6Gb of RAM or a 640Gb HDD for DDO. You could downgrade both.

Oh, to the OP, you don't note your screen resolution which has a huge impact on understanding if that vid card can drive high res everything on. I suspect that vid can drive a 19" 1440x900 with 4x AA and everything high just fine. I also suspect it would be challenged at anything higher like a 1920x1080 or better on a 23" or 24" screen.

yeah I do plan to use a 23 or 24 inch monitor. The hard drive is a free upgrade from 500 gigs, as I am ordering this pc online and Hard Drives don't come much smaller then 500gb, and right now looking at HPs as they seem to be cheapest for the money. So as for better cards...
how about a

1GB ATI Radeon HD 5770 [2 DVI,HDMI,DP,VGA adapter]? is that a better choice? only 50 bucks more...
or
1GB ATI Radeon HD 4850 [2 DVI, HDMI and VGA adapters] "ATI`s TeraScale graphics engine delivers an immersive, cinematic gaming experience "? that is 100 bucks more.

I am going by the HP website since I am ordering from there right now and those are the choices, I could go with CyberPowerpc.com they seem to have a good price compared to the low price of an HP if I need something different. Thanks again.

The 4850 is comparable to the 5770 so save $50 and go for the 5770. That's what I use and run the game at all ultra high settings on 1680x1050.

I could be wrong but unless im mistaken the 6GB of Ram is to cover the resource hungry Windows 7. If its anything like my laptop, which isnt that badly specced with 4 GB of Ram, windows 7 chews that like nothing else.

Plus according to the HP site, upgrading to 6 from 4 is free and does not cost extra.
