Default 32 point wf wizard - what build

Going to start a 32 pt WF wizard. What would be good starting stats. Put extra pts in str and con?

you need to reincarnate twice to make a 32p Drow. Regular 28p Drow are considered equivalent of any other race at 32 points though.

If you where me making a WF wiz: Max int, rest con

    Wf 18wiz 2rog

    stats

    8str
    8dex
    18con
    18int
    12wis
    6char

    max out umd, dd, search...

2stat points into int, 3into con

    18con+3lvl+2enhancememt+6item+1tome=30+3tome=32unb uffed
    18int+2lvl+3enhancement+6item+1tome=30+3tome=32
    12wis+6item+2tome=20

self buff with items you can umd heal scrolls and raise scrolls along with getting every trap in game

    feats- max,emp,extend,quicken,heighten,toughness(x2),mt,i mt

now I can't remember if the feats are all correct but I think it is...

The tomes are not needed it just helps, with gear unbuffed this
build can get high saves high hp(around 500) and does good
dmg along with evasion and good trap skills... Will post a planner vers later with the break down hope this helps

I used to think the Casting Wizard (Precious) was my favorite character... now I think the Melee Wizard (Gemstone) is my favorite.

You can check out their builds in the links in my sig.

I'd go 18 int, 18 con for sure, with 6 points left.

You could go 20 con, but that's an expensive 20 hp and +1 fort save. I'd put str to 12 to avoid being made helpless by ray of enfeeblement without wearing a str item, and smack things around more in early on. You can even swing a useful vorpal or paralyzer if needed. The last 2 points in str for a bit of melee +2 wis for a will save (you're wf, so immune to the worst of it) or +2 cha for umd.

Dex is a waste if you take insightful reflexes, as your AC is never going to be significant.

I posted my builds around here somewhere but basically I'd either go:

    !4 strength
    18 con
    18 int
    base rest

    or

    18 strength
    18 con
    14 int
    base rest

The first build is your standard spellcasting build...that specializes in killing things with spells pretty much, but can melee through the early levels and is safe vs debuffs.

The second build is for the pure melee specialized WF...works well, still gets WoF, Acid Rain, MM's etc.

Those would be my two suggestions for WF though

    Wait what?

No, don't do this... just don't. All level points to go into your main stat - this holds for all characters. Mixing and matching has a poor payoffs, particularly for a class that is DC dependent.
