is there any reason to keep mass suggestion once we select mass charm monster? I doubt it, but i dont really know the difference between the two spells.

I'm the best there is at what I do. But what I do, isn't very nice..
I am curious also, as to why take Mass Charm monster at all. Wouldn't a heightened Mass Suggestion be better due to there being no recurring saves?
Mass Suggestion will drop all the charmed enemies at the same time. Very dangerous in a prolongued fight, when four ogres suddenly revert in your backline and gang up on you or the cleric...
I agree. On paper suggestion looks better. But for me, in game play I found that charm was a better answer. Too many times I found myself scrambling to deal with a sudden influx in aggo'd angry suggestionless mobs. The effects of charm fail gracefully, this appeals to my structural engineer side.

As an alternative perspective, I exclusively use Suggestion and Mass Suggestion as the Dominate and Charm line of spells allow the bad guys to get will saves every 3d6+12 seconds or about 23 seconds on average. That's about three times a minute. Extended Mass Suggestion at level 20 is four minutes. It lands and sticks which is important to me in areas like Shavarath. I'm not particularly fond of having that Bearded Devil back in my face less than 30 seconds later.
