    Default One bad apple...

This is just an obsevartion. I have seen quite a few threads on the forums that lead into heated debates. I LOVE those threads. People complaining about something, other people trying to convince them their opinion is wrong, back and forth. Some ppl agree with the OP, some don't. Everyone has what they percieve as valid points. The thread goes for several pages, falls down the forum list then pops back up until eventually someone has to be a jerk and make it a personal attack and WHAM thread is locked. I understand you can't have people attacking other players on the forums, but why can't that post just be deleted and the offending player be given a warning instead of closing the whole discussion? It seems to me that by locking a thread and having it fall to the bottom of the forums you sometimes take what was a healthy discussion full of thought provoking ideas from both sides and have it disappear due to the actions of one bad apple.

Would you say that a good discussion gets locked because the Mod read everything and decided it was leading nowhere or that it was reported by a player?

I'm on the player reports myself where personally I would prefer the offending post/s get deleted. Certain threads though should just be locked.
