About 6 days ago now, maybe a bit longer, I am pugging into hound with what seems like a fairly reasonable group of folks ... until we zone in the quest, and someone has left their auto-attack on, sending a ranged weapon immediately at momma hound, who charges us (many of us just now loading into the quest), and we wipe in under 30 seconds because the entire party has bees breath. It was awesome.

On the upside most everyone seemed to be in good spirits about it and were laughing ... and how can you not?

I'm so using this to deflect the guild jokes that go my way. That is worse than me hitting the auto-run key and charging in on my cleric. That was about a year ago, and they still won't let me forget it.

I did this last night on my sorc in Epic Velah...I was leading, called fire, and everyone ran back. At the same time, trash spawned and I turned around to start nuking it to kill it asap...but I pressed "R", when I meant to press "E" to strafe to the right...

I literally did a lap around the rock and barely made back before being cooked halfing

I cant emphasize enough how a simple plan or walk through by the leader of a raid would save allot of parties from a failure. Never assume a pug group has it together unless u know everyone in the pug. Notice "Ass"ume. I have not run many Raids of late but when I do I will walk it through specially if its a pug. I usually will tell the group if it doesn't apply let it fly. The, Is there anyone new in the group? sometimes is not enough as people do not want to be categorized as being new.

Velah with a PuG and some guildies. All first timers. Get the Pillars down and was tryingto get everyone to the pitcher's mound. THen my guildie runs to me, jumps and shoots Velah.

Game over.

I'd like to nominate my dumb self!
Not just because I hit enter twice and accidently posted before finishing (Everything after the ! is an edit) but because I was duoing Rest for the Restless with my Wizard5/Rogue3 and Maloren the level 4 cleric. I figure, elite cause i'm level 8 should be fine after all I recently finished Delera's I can handle undead, right? I go down the hallway and take the first right. The skeletons show up, arcane skeletons with lightning and what not. I'm having trouble casting the command undead (mix of targeting and spell failure) and Maloren is just standing there. He's in defensive mode, surrounded by skeletons, i'm having issues we're both about half dead and then *whack* *crumple*, Maloren goes down without casting a single heal. I'm beside myself in the moment, my hireling cleric in defensive mode just failed to cast a single heal and let himself die with a 95% SP bar? ***? I finish the last of the arcane archers, quite the fight that was got maybe 2hp left and i'm telling friends about the stupidly horrible hireling moment when a skeleton I had under command around the corner sneaks up behind me and *whack* *crumple*... wipe.

i'm still not sure they had auto-attack on or were just throwing it jacking around. i zoned in saw the dagger go out, looked up right into the dog's face...

almost replacing that one, joined a pug shroud where the leader was a sorc. he puts the group together with no other arcanes. no big deal, happens a lot with the better casters. no rangers either, uh okay. whatever.

anyway, we get to about portal 3 and i'm like man there are a lot of mobs attacking us. look at the kill count and the sorc has zero kills. he then makes the comment - "man, nothing is banishing in here" "i'm like uh, oh". anyway, one of hordo's officers who is known for being quite loquacious talks the guy through part one, sort of.

we get to part 2

attempt 1 - sorc tries to finger the crystal and is complaining how the crystal is bugged

ask if clerics have offensive spells, no. think "uh oh"

attempt 2 - sorc tries to disintegrate the crystal but it won't target (since its above you, etc)
attempt 3 - tell sorc to put firewall on crystal before it drops and he tells us he can't because it won't target.
attempt 4- ask for ddoor

First time in Epic VoN after getting through the pillars, we gathered the whole party in the doorframe like we always used to. Meanwhile, Velah lands, and the timer starts ticking. Strategy is explained, and we say, ok, go on the count of 3.

Someone else decided to go on the count of 3 as well... just as we started running up, the fighters at Velah and the clerics to the rocks, off goes the dragon breath.

It was the most instantaneous wipe I'd ever seen.

Went to reflag for DQ2 epic by rerunning DQ1 on casual last night.

No lagspikes, no autorun issues (I bind autorun to control-R for that reason). I still fall in the lava and have to Word of Recall and run back.

My first Let sleeping dust lie elite I was sort've worried about being a piker as a barb, I was in a group with a bunch of long time players, at least I think they were as they kept talking about all of their gear. I didnt have any good gear, just basic functional stuff, not that it would have mattered as I am normally a thf, and couldnt do what I am best at. So I was intim the mobs and tripping them and using a one handed imp curse for the ogres and para for the mages, trying to be a contributing party member until we got to the fights where I could let loose.

A few fights in I am trying to para a mage and I somehow hit a spider. Its alive, but it has this big green ball on it and I am feeling pretty stupid, everybody will see this and sigh at me, ect ect.

Luckily they were too busy to notice, as they were laughing at their own spiders trying to hit them through their uber gear in voice. Their uber gear with slayguards.

Btw as far as I saw, before we were ported out, the spider *I* hit was still alive and well.
I think I saved its life.

An old one. Done by one of the oldest "professionals" on Argonnessen before. Upon entering ranged shot by Cyrrous with a repeater on the Big Dog Party Wipe.

Just leave the group, and you should be able to re-join and make the run back in on Epic.

We had a guy do the same thing.
