Butt-hurt

The expression butt-hurt seems to float around DDO-dom a fair bit, and it has always sounded so base and tacky to my ears. I was wondering if we might come up with an expression that conveys the same meaning but is more couth.

How about:

Posteriorly pained?

Rectally discomfortable?

Anally aggravated?

Arse-ached?

Bittered buttocks?

Boo-booed bum?

Surely, we can come up with SOMETHING else. At the very least, we should be able to add a little bit of variety. Give it a try the next time you feel like conveying the aforementioned sentiment.

So the point of "butt-hurt" is to convey the angst that comes from having your feelings hurt in a public and embarrassing way. It's the like the insult version of onamotopoea, where seeing the phrase makes you feel the very emotion it describes.

Using a different word or phrase would lessen the impact of the statement, watering down the author's message.
