    Default small question

I am new to this game and need some advice about vip accounts if anyone can help me. Thought i would start here as i am in the Kyber server.

I have a vip account...but the drow elf and favoured soul can be picked unless i pay more...which is a bit **** as it states that all races and classes are free with the vip account.

it also states all adventure quest packs are also free...what happens do you automatically get them or do you have to go to shop to get them for free??

sorry i ask silly questions but it has been bugging me for days and i emailled support and got no reply...many thanks

    Welcome to the game.

Drow and FvS are special in that they need to be unlocked by getting favor. They can be purchased from the store though. You get favor by completing quests. Favor depends on the difficulty of each quest. You need 400 favor to unlock Drow. I am sure there are others that will explain it better.

Where did you see that all races and classes are free for VIP? VIPs get Monk and WF for free, but drow or Favored Souls along with 32 point builds have to be bought or unlocked through favor. Drow in particular are not difficult to unlock.

As for quests, just go to the quest giver, get the quest and run it. No need to use the store. If you were F2P or premium, you would see a "Buy Now!" icon over the quest givers and you would be unable to enter the quest or zone without buying the pack.

    Doing quests earns favor.

As for quest pack access, you automatically get them all when you go VIP so you don't have to unlock them.
Fullmental Lobotomy: Warforged 2Rog/18Wiz Catharxis: Drow 10Ranger/2Rog | Knobstomper: Dwarf 4Bard/2Rog/2Ftr
Meatjob: Warforged 5 FvS | Tronjeremy: HOrc 4 Monk

Default you earn favor from questing

1/3 from doing a quest on normal

1/3 from doing a quest on hard

and a 1/3 from doing a quest on elite, or you can run elite once and get it all (you only receive favor once for the highest level you have completed a quest, so once you run a quest on elite, you never get any more favor from that quest on that toon)

as VIP you can run stuff on hard instead of having to do normal/hard/elite which helps to make the grind a little less tiresome as well.

Using favor to unlock drow/fvs/32 point builds is also server specific whereas buying them is game wide on every server (food for thought if you play on mulitple servers).

Also, there is no favor reward for slayers/explorers/rares in wilderness areas, just exp.

    Indeed it does state that.

    http://www.ddo.com/vip

    Races: All included free*
    Classes: All included free*

    Which means....

    * Select races and classes may still require the use of game mechanics to unlock for free

As for the quests. Nope, you can run around in any area so long as you are character level high enough to enter the area and run any quest you go get.

You get all those things for free (no money), but you need to work for some access (Drow, 32pt Builds, FVS) in the game by reaching certain favor goals. Of course, you can still pay for them in the store if you are not inclined to grind the favor.
