    Default The Drow Duo - Paladin/Rogue 18/2

    Hi Guys,

    Can you please comment on the build below? It is supposed to be the main dps, played by me. He will be the one going first on a duo play, so has spot to get traps / doors / etc, while the other character (the drow wizard), will be opening / searching / disabling.

    Looks solid, the only thing i dont think is worthy is getting 4 points extra on int so you can max spot, the wizard should get the spot, and drop some in search if he is too tight on skill points since he can use the find traps spell to give a boost to the search skill.
    If you chose to drop int to 10, put those points in str.

    Spot uses Wisdom, not Intelligence. My guess is that Intelligence was pumped a bit for skill points, which is what I did with my paladin/rogue as well. Of course, with a base 8 wisdom, gear is going to play heavily into the paladin's spotting ability.

    Also, his wizard buddy might have a hard time casting Find Traps as it's a divine spell.

    As to the build, it's probably a matter of taste but I wouldn't want to wait until level 11 for evasion. I really wouldn't want to wait for it if I were playing your friend's character either*, mainly because of the traps that start popping up where the box is on the other side of the actual trap. In those cases he'll need to get past the traps to disable them. Plus it's always nice to shrug off fireballs, cones of cold, etc. Of course, if you guys are really fast levelers this may not be an issue for you.





    * While it can be painful to basically be a spell level behind as a caster due to multiclassing, I personally love evasion enough to put up with it.

    I know that spot uses wisdom, he got 4 extra point on int so he can max spot skill, thats a bad idea imho.
    My mistake about find traps.
    Anyway, i still think that the wizard should be the one with spot, or just drop spot from the duo, there are situations where spot wont be of any use, and once you know the quests, you know where to search aswell, not worth taking 4 point on int.
