Default New to DDO need a little help

Due to my family lifestyle I wanted to build a solo type avatar. Now I've seen a good build of a 17 cleric/2 mnk/1 rouge. Now the description was lvl 1 build rouge and such, now does that mean I should roll a rouge then when I hit lvl 2 multi class to my cleric?? Or do you multiclass to rouge at lvl 2. The multiclass thing has me a little confused anyhelp would be so magnificent.

Start as a rogue (for the extra skill points to allocate). Then when you have enough xp to go to level 2, speak to a cleric trainer and take the 2nd level as cleric.
INFERUS SUS Sorcs (Socky, Sockie, Socklin), Rogues (Sockpuppet, Sockum), Clerics (Sockington, Sockase), FVS (Sockle), Intim (Tubesocks), Bards (Sockdolenger, Sockish), Rangers (Sockin, Sockel), Wizzy (Sockut), Kensai (Sockt), Monk (Sockfist), Arty (Sockficer, Sockcraft)

I would not take your 2nd level of rogue until you are above 8, then you get your evasion abilities. Until then using heavy plate should keep you covered nicely. *** This is assuming you start with a high dex and can later on use your dex bonus to its full effect.
If you're not Intelligent enough to play a wiz, make a sorc.

I would advise against a build like this for a new player. Its highly gear, Tome and playstyle dependent.

Probably Monk if you have access to it or Paladin are some fairly good solo classes. Cleric is good as well since they are very self-sufficient.

I always suggest a Pure build first. Get a Feel for the game. If you Bough FvS, go with that. otherwise, a Cleric with a mid level STR works very well.
