hi guys!
i would like to start a discussion about whether it is worth a complete feat and 12 AP to make healing really effective.
i am thinking of making a (human) cleric with occ style yet also making use of supporting spells as much as possible.
there are not many feats necessary for this plan and also my most-wanted enhancements can all be bought.
but i wonder whether it makes sense to take both feats instead of only taking maximize and use this feat for increasing the heal effect as well.
when i look at a lvl 7 spell (like mass cure serious wounds) then i pay 40 sp for single effekt, the standard efficiency ratio r.
65 SP for doubled effect, i.e. 2*r*40/65 ~ 1,231r.
max empower with all enhancements pays 46 sp for 50% more effect, i.e. 1,5*r*40/46 ~ 1,304r.
a relative increase of only ~6%.
so what are the (dis)advantages?
for lower level healing spells empower healing is much more beneficial. and as seen above, even for high level spells empower healing does increase efficiency.
but omitting empower healing lets me: use 12 more AP. e.g. taking a fourth lvl of +SP enhancement. and also the increased critical heal enhancements are rather omitted or only trained to lvl 1/2 in a typical OOC i'd say. which will both lessen the gap to the 6% advantage of taking empower healing.
i don't know which feat to take instead, but there are many that could help. another toughness maybe? spell focus?
...
what do you say? rather take empower healing (and training all 3 enhancements) or just skip this part?
