My wife tried to rope me in on this ****.

Where she's from (Buffalo NY), they have this thing called Sweetest Day. As best as I can recall, it's like a wannabe Valentine's Day. I seem to remember something about girls chasing the boys around with cat-tail switches, but I may be confusing ******** Buffalo holidays.

Ain't cuttin' it with me. If the made-up holiday didn't exist in my universe when I was born, it will never exist for me (unless it turns into a day off, in which case I'll celebrate

Yep. Apparently that's what happens when you live on the wrong side of the soda/pop line (Rochester is the dividing line for NY, if you live west of it, you say "pop", if you live east of it, you say "soda").
