how does kensai 3 and improved crit affect a weapon crit range
for example a heavy pick is 1-6 20 (x4)
long sword 1-8 19-20 (x2)

Kensai 3 gives +1 crit range, no matter what else you may have that affects crit range. Assuming improved crit, a 20/x? weapon becomes 18/x?, 19-20/x? becomes 16-20/x?, 18-20/x? becomes 14-20/x?.
