    Default Account Upgrade issues.

    Hello,
    i created a DDO account in June but never played. I Came back and been playing under the free account and decided to go out and purchase the game to upgrade to VIP. I entered the Product key (unopened sealed box) did the process of adding a Credit card and everything appeared to work, yet i am still listed as a Free account and when i try to add the key it claims it has already been activated. I purchased a copy for my roommate as well and he is playing as we speak, What can i do to resolve this and upgrade to VIP? How could it be that i was the one to activate the code yet not receive the 30 days free?
    Any help would be appreciated, i really don't want to have to go back to WOW.

    Do a few things. First, restart your client completely and relog. If you don't have VIP status still, you'll have to wait. It can take up to a day to register sometimes, unfortunately.

    Thanks for the quick reply, i shall try that. It sucks watching my roommate play all the unlocked content while i am running the same things over. I hope restarting everything fixes it.

    Sadly restarting everything did not fix the issue. Hopefully tomorrow the issue will be resolved.

    If you're still experiencing this issue, you can try adding the key again. It is possible that the upgrade didn't take the first time for some reason. If that doesn't work for you, then I'd recommend contacting the Account Management department for assistance.

    Default similar situation

    I, too, have a retail version of the game, but am not going to put any $ down for the VIP status. I was going to go for the second tier status. (4 character slots).

    When doing the upgrade, do I have to put in a c-card or game card just to get there? Or is there a spot in my account management that will allow me to put in the registration key without having to do any ccard or game card information.

    You should be able to add the key, then select Game Card, then "I don't have one now, I'll give you one later" to add the key without payment.
