reactivating old account

Hello ppl I hope this is the right place to ask this question.
My old account is in suspension because of my credit card number change, and a little before that I felt bored and just decided not to leave the game for a while. Now with my friends coming to try out the game, I want to reactivate my account.
I read somewhere that when I reactivate my account, it will become a VIP. So my question is, is that automatically VIP and I'll be charged as soon as the account is reactivated or do I get a chance to choose? The reason I'm asking is that I kinda want to try the free game first (it's been about a year since I last played) but there's a ton of gears that I stored in my account, which I could definitely make good use of.

No, you'll be Premium, which is basically f2p, without the overly insane limitations of regular ftp.

VIP is "only" if you pay monthy, and if you choose not to pay a month, your VIP status will end, and you'll be reverted back to premium status.

So if I update my credit card info, I won't be charged. I'll be charged only if I choose to pay for a certain month, is that true?
Also could you please point me to the definitions of f2p and ftp? Obviously a year of absence has got me out of date.

Np, and yea, that's correct. Well ftp/f2p mean the same thing(Free to play). IMO, premium(ftp) is all around better, "especially" for a game like this, that is quest driven, and revolves around repeating quests, so you should like it. You'll wan't to buy Adventure Packs as needed, and such, but atleast if you get burned out(bored in DDO for a short time), you can still jump in game here, and there to do a run or so, without being forced to pay to beable to access your char.

So, I no longer have my credit card, but i'm in the same boat (played when the game came out and just heard that it's F2P now so I thought Id give it a shot) and it says on the account page,

"To reactivate your subscription, select a subscription plan and enter a payment method in the fields below. Click the Submit button to resume your subscription."

But as I said, I dont have a credit card and the idea of entering credit info scares me anyways for a f2p game... is there a way around this?
