I didnt see in your orignal post anywhere that the whole group was spamming you with tells. That can be a bit annoying im sure but half the time im sure they arent telling one another..hey im gonna send ace a tell..hey im gonna send joe a tell. The group was probably sitting there for awhile and they party was just trying to get a cleric. I dont agree with it being "bad behavior" to send a person thats not in a party already a tell simply asking ..interested in Tor? Ace: no thanks...end of story.

I remember a shroud some time ago, with a certain bard. The DPS was poor (not accusing the bard here), was obvious from the get go. Part 4 arrives and it looks pretty bad. Have only 1 cleric and a bard (second cleric did not make it in time tru first gate, dont remember), by the end of round 1 the cleric has blown his mana, drunk one pot, and the Pit Fiend is still at 80% health. Quite a few members of the party think this looks like a costly win, if at all, should we bail out? A concensus is rapidly reached. Ok, dimension door anyone? Anyone? The fiend comes back, people get in the fray, might as well die fast if got no ddoor he? Meanwhile, said bard says absolutely nothing, teleports back to Meridia, and drops group. No word at all, no sorry guys I dont carry ddoor, no nothing. That was real classy. Adults should not act like that.

One disadvantage of being anonymous is that the people who have you on their friends list won't know whether you're on or not. So unless you're in the same guild you'd never know if your friends were on.

And to play the Devil's advocate, someone in the group could have mentioned they were going to ask every ungrouped cleric which would have prevented all the other tells

We really have been having conflicting schedules..i've given up on trying to catch you online lol. I figure one of these days we'll both be around at the same time. I specifically logged on that day to help you with favor..you were busy so I logged :P

I kind of enjoy random solicitations if I am ungrouped because I don't spend a whole lot of time looking at the LFM panel in general and despite not being an extrordinary typist, I have found that "/r no ty" is fairly quick and easy. They don't have to be a buddy of mine either, the random act of "some folks could use some help from class XYZ" can be fun and rewarding. For folks who find these sorts of tells irksome, an option to make yourself anon to everyone except others who have you on their friends list would work well in addition to having the completely anonymous option.

If you want that to read correctly it should read as follows.

Real adults will point out bad behavior in private to the individual, not in public. Real adults do not gossip about silly behavior or go on public forums to cry about stuff. Real adults take the high road and brush things off.

It goes back to the old addage "praise in public discipline in private."
