    Default What gives....

with people looting Reaver before all the Ele's are dead? Its pandemic. I think the philosophy goes like - "I'm a tank, there's nothing I can do" BS. I call c rap. Total and utter c rap. Finish things off before you dive into your crappy level 10-12 loot. It'll still be there if you really want it.

So, I just recently started doing Reaver, Hound, and Vison raids again. On a reaver the other day, we were cleaning up the eles after the puzzle had been solved. Once they were gone, we went to the chests and found one of our number had already opened all three regular chests and was emote sleeping by the raid chest. You just have to admire the consideration and teamwork sometimes...

    Default The Other Day

A little while ago I was on one of my melees running the Reaver and all died except me and a Sorc before the lever was pulled. I got flight and the sorc kept him busy. I came back, we finished him off and did the puzzle.

Now there are a bunch of ellys around and I'm trying to beat them down and run towards the chests, mostly because I'm thinking as people are rezzing, they will help.

    Ummm.. nope..

People are cracking open the chests and only one person said thanks for the completion and only a couple more ended up helping us finish off the ellys.

I'm seeing this kind of behavior all over, but mostly in the shroud in part 3.

People get out of their rooms and start to loot the chests as soon as possible, figuring someone else will run water.. etc.

Or people d/c for a minute and you ask people to hold off opening chests.. and "boom" there goes the lid on the chests.

    ???

At first I was disappointed and vented my disappointment, but because it's so common nowadays, I just have to accept the discourteous behavior as normal.

im usually the 1st to loot in part 3, and almost always before its completely done. however, by the time im looting, ive done at least 2 puzzles and waters. i cant recall a single shroud where i havent done at least 2 of each, and then i notice at least 2-3 people are just chilling in the middle waiting for everyone else to get it done for them.

I just run around or hide behind the fountain and then once someone else loots its okay if I loot.

I'll admit that if I'm cleric-ing - only - I tend to park in the middle.. got hammered into to me back when Mod 6 first came out and the wall was a regular visitor to our guild runs.

But yeah, other than that.. go hump some water and help finish puzzles.

You guys know that most people that don't run water, loot first, and don't listen, Are the ones that don't read the forums or care to want to learn how to be a better player.

    Just saying

Bad time to be PUGing those Eriik...

Don't know if it's a pre-mod9 lull with regulars out or what, but PUGs for these have often been terrible lately. Curteousy aside, any semblance of competence can be hard to find. I seem to find pugs in 3 categories equally of late:
    - some runs everyone knows their role and these runs that should be simple these days actually are. I consider these refreshing, pleasant surprises.
    - a few people clearly don't know what they're doign and/or can't listen but the majority still pulls together a fairly normal completion. I'm happy enough with these.
    - ugly wipes in hound or reaver that leave you scratching your head wondering what game some of those party member have been playing during the last year because it doesn't seem to have been DDO. I really am seeing a third of random PUGs for these two raids fail. Ugh.

Others seeing so many bad pugs too? I think many who are still trying to play fairly regularly are pugging more, as guild rosters are too thin with folks on the sideline waiting for new content.

Appears to be quite a strong correlation between the 2 things.

    Hmm...

Don't want to help, thus becoming a better player and Can't find the forums, thus lacking the intellect and desire to source out ways to perhaps become a better player, as there is ohhhh... so much useful information out here on a given day.

Well... at least that demonstrates the intellect to fein an attempt to look helpful, or at least showcase a decent hide skill so no one notices ya doing nothing but lurking and waiting to pounce.

Have everybody not loot until the end and thus problem solved. This is exactly why non looting at the end shroud speeds takes 5 min or so longer then looting at the end shroud speeds because people mess around. They sit on their butts, think they need buffs all that sort of thing..

    Default One of these days...

I'm going to say something nasty to those that loot before they should. I don't care if it's a pug or a guild run, but c'mon show some respect for those still running water or killing eles.

A particularly memorable incident was one Shroud run where there was one water left and all the puzzles were done. Most of the group were waiting in the middle for some reason. Some of us were running back from doing some waters when a chest was opened. Like moths to an open flame, people converged on the chest. As I picked up and ran the last water, I thought to myself "Not cool!". Someone had the nerve to say something about the barrier not being down and that we still had a water to run...lazy bastages

I think this is the one thing that ticks me off most whenever pugging the Shroud. I realize those portals hit pretty hard and all but jeez lets waste another ten minutes while while the cleric unloads half his mana on party buffs.

On another has anyone noticed how pug Shrouds are failing more and more? I've been in a number of them laterly just trying to get completions and man it is brutal at the frequency of failures. I'm almost to the point where if it isn't a guild run or a Legion run I'm just not going to bother.

Was in a pug run about 2 months ago that was a 5 rounder. I think there were still 6-8 of us standing at the end of part 4. When we finally killed Harry in part 5, two people thanked the group because they'd never gotten past part 4. I had to laugh to myself because I don't remember ever doing a 5 rounder...not even in the early Shroud days.
