I'd look again at AH, lowest I see is a mil plat, plus plat has little meaning in this game atm, scales and larges have taken over.

Even at a million the 33% hit would put you around the 650 he is offering. Besides, there are 4 sets on there NOW at 850kPP, or 561 k PP after AH cut.

I don't understand Oogly, whats wrong with the AH? Do you remember when Turbine put a crackdown on plat farmers? How the twigs went from stacks of 5 for 15k to 1 for 75k plat? Purhaps you and your infanant amount of plat could afford that, but to the averge player or even myself who doesn't really ever have more than 500k plat across all my toons at one time could not. Now I am in no way supporting the practice of buying plat, I am mearly pointing out what happens when they are removed from the game setting and the players are forced to fill in the gaps on the AH.

I understand that you are a not a rich player, like I have already posted, I'm in a different boat, I have 59 large scales and almost as many stones, but little to no plat. But if the AH has a lower price, why not just buy there? why come to the forums at all?

and btw....whats that much plat really good for? Sure you can walk around with your pockets full of cash, but you dont need that much, 500k max can keep you going nonstop. You find one person willing to sell them for that, for only 650k plat and I will give them that too right on the spot for another set.

The AH is 850 buyout, after the AH takes the 33% the seller makes only 550. Buff is ofering 650. You do not see the benefit of coming to the forums for BOTH the seller and the buyer?

I understand that 100% Oogly, what I am saying is; 650k for the Firestorm Greaves is a rip off for who ever is selling them, I really don't think that anyone would make that traid.

i cant explain it any better than this. they post on ah for 850k someone buys them off the ah. seller recieves 550k plat after ah fees. so i offer 650k and skip the ah. no fees. instead of getting 550k for them they get 650k. they already posted them on the ah for 850 so they are willing to take 550k for them. i'm offering 650 so they get more and i save some. i really cant think of a way to break it down anymore.

Well, there are four people who posted their greaves on the AH who would disagree. THEY are willing to only get 550kpp for their greaves. Buff is willing to give them more than they are going to get IF they actually buyout.

Is your issue with this that you over paid for the set you traded for recently? You could have easily sold all those items for 200k PP for each item, totally 1.4 million plat, and then bought a set off the AH for 850 K PP and saved yourself 550kPP. Just because you spent that much, doesn't make that the actual market.

The plat buyout on the AH is a rough estimate, but it is usually the HIGH estimate, and can never be the low estimate. Nobody will ever pay you more on the forums than what several are selling for on the AH. So the HIGH estimate for selling these is somewhere between 850 and 550K PP. 650K PP seems to be a very good offer.

I guess what you are saying is the four people who posted their greaves for 850k PP on the AH are ripping themselves off. If that is true, buy them and sell them yourself for the "true" value.

This is a recent trend I hate to see. People jumping in someone else's trade thread to say that their item isn't worth that much (or in this case, the item the OP is seeking is worth more.) No one should have to defend the OPs right to make an offer. If you don't like the offer, skip over the post. If you don't have the Greaves to trade, skip over the post. Poor form, Comf. Poor form.

All that being said, this is a very fair offer. Both the buyer and seller benefit from this transaction.
