    Default Best crit dps weapon?

    Quick question:

Right now, when I hold a mob or flesh to stone something, I usually switch to duel wield puncturing daggers to auto-crit and drain the con to kill it.

With the nerf to con damage in mod 9, I think I should probably switch to duel wield whatever does the highest crit dps I can find. My question is, what is the highest crit damage pair of weapons I should be looking for?

Holy burst heavy pick of maiming or something like that? Something else?

    Thanks!

    Deathnips.

1-handed Seeker +8, Maiming, x4 crit weapon. Use force crit ritual.

The nerfing will continue until morale improves!

Dreamspitter would likely be your best bet for autocrits. 1d4 levels per hit chews up 5000hp mobs quite fast compared to the best dps combo (Assuming no 2wf feats and autocrits):

Mainhand: +5 holy/goodburst/goodblast greensteel heavypick with force crit ritual
Offhand: +X seeker (+10) heavy pick of maiming.

Dreamspitter not only kills them faster but will also make sure you hold sticks and they can't save.

Short of that, what Lithic has listed is your best choice for DPS, both weapons with force crit ritual would be best.

Deathnip only has appeal against mob that aren't autocritted (held or FTS or otherwise). It has the same crit multiplier and base damage then any heavy pick but a larger crit range (which is not important against autocrittable mobs). You can also easily get the same bonus effects on random pulls as stated by Lithic above. Not only that, but farming the tome pages to get something you can easily duplicate against held mobs wouldn't be advisable

I have tested dual weilding light or heavy picks (Electric burst/of maiming), and Dreamspitter, and for me, Dreamspitter usually does the job faster. I am trying to think of anything that can be HoldPersoned/Monstered and yet cannot be level drained...and I am not coming up with anything.

Dreamspitter looks to be the way to go. How common a drop is it? I have only been on 3 or 4 reaver raids, but I haven't seen it drop for anyone that I can recall...

    thanks,

I used to use the dreamspitter + flesh to stone combo on my sorc

I then switched to mass hold person, sometimes FTS + duel puncturing daggers.

With the puncturing daggers, you could sometimes take out 3 mobs before they saved, so it was much more economical on spell points then fts+ dreamspitter, and was a good deal of fun.

That won't really be an option now, and I doubt that even the best crit weapon (probably holyburst heavy picks of maiming + bloodstone, or greensteel of course) would be capable of killing the mobs in auto crit before holds wore off. Heavy picks would probably be just fine for stoned mobs though. With low hp mobs like troglodytes, heavy picks might be quicker than the dreamspitter. With high hp mobs like giants you are better off with the dreamspitter though.

Sadly, I don't think either will be quick enough for me to be able to use mass hold the way I used to.

    Puncturing Heavy Picks.

Con dmg will still knock off a fair chunk of hitpoints with the w/p fix in mod9.

For everything in the game but the crazy mod8 giants, puncture heavy picks will still kill faster then dreamspitter.

    The mod9 content, i dunno.

Currently i use dual w/p heavy picks.. Not much takes more then a few swings while moving.
