Hey Bekki!

How can I pick but 10 songs when I have many hundreds of satellite radio channels, "old style" radio stations, and CDs to choose from?
Answer? I don't.

I couldn't get to 10 without adding fillers (or at least thinking, which I am avoiding at the moment). These are all legitimately excellent songs that make my playlist on their own merits. And also happen to be driving songs
- Interstate Love Song (STP)
- Car Song (Elastica)
- Bad Motorscooter (Montrose)
- Drive You Home (Garbage)
- Highway Song (Blackfoot)
- Ready To Go (Republica)
- Star Cycle (Jeff Beck)
And the entire album The Cars (The Cars)

I definitely have trouble staying under 15 miles over the limit when listening to LA Woman, and nothing is quite as fun as belting out Werewolves while driving along the highway at night with the windows down.

Funny how this post says a lot about the person. I drive a bike now (so no music while driving), but when I play poker, these are tunes I listen to. My List:
1. What these b*tches want from a N-word - DMX
2. Soul Survivor - Young Jeezy feat Akon
3. California Love - Dr. Dre & Tu-pak
4. So what - Ministry
5. Erase myself - Linkin Park
6. Virtual Insanity - Jarmoaquay (sp?)
7. Prison Sex - Tool
8. Picture me Rollin - 2Pac
9. Captain Cocktail - Cirrus
10. Bring your whole crew - DMX
Bonus Track - The Sweetest Girl - Wyclif Jean Feat Akon and Lil Wayne
The thing I love about threads like this is the variety you see.
I have a very ecclectic taste, been all over the world, and learned
To love all kinds of music. And the variety of music I have seen
And heard here is amazing!
Kudos to all!
I am going to have alot of fun, listening to all of these
Outstanding suggestions!

Oh! Totally forgot:
Devil With the Blue Dress On - Mitch Ryder and The Detroit Wheels
and
Higher and Higher - Jackie Wilson
These are the kinda songs that I start dancing to in my seat, drumming on the steering wheel, singing out loud... Not really sure how I manage to continue driving while doing so, but I'm still here...

I drive 60-70k miles a year.... and half those songs posted put me to sleep....
Thin Lizzy, April Wine, Golden Earing, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani .... any and all 80's metal... ALL Good!!
But if I'm driving down a windy road.... the Song for me is
Eric Johnson Cliffs of Dovar
Minstral of Mayhem
Aces over Kings
Another good one Crazy B!tch-Buckcherry
To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!
Go for the eyes Boo!
No time atm to be thorough, but a couple that come to mind right off:
Detroit Rock City - Kiss
Holier Than Thou - metallica
Black Sunshine - White Zombie
Thunder Kiss '65 - White Zombie
Dragula - Rob Zombie
...that's just my metal mood showing.
Could be anything from Devo, to Alan Jackson, to Megaherz screaming from my open windows.
And *I* am the master of my stereo when I'm driving.

I have to admit, especially for late night driving, the whole Bat Out of Hell album keeps me awake and cranked.
Most of the ones I would have put have been listed
Golden Earring - either Twilight Zone or Radar Love
Rush - Tom Sawyer or Red Barchetta or The Spirit of Radio
Anything that I know like the back of my hand that has fast paced music (though this ends up being frustrating in rush hour)
