Looking for some advice. I have a level 16 Human Sorcerer. Been waiting to run this quest to grind out for caster gear. I have only run this quest with my Cleric, which I feel used for it, because there is nothing in there for my cleric and is way to expensive. Anyways I have seen some different tactics but what works best?
I do not have Heighten so I am worried my Webs will do nothing. And I do have acid fog(I scroll GH).
My gear is good 36cha, Superior Potency, Greater Spell Pen and Reavers Napkin and tier 2 spell point item... need 2 more scales for tier 3. Trying to remember my feats, I am at work... Spell Pen, Greater Spell Pen, Extend, Max, Emp.

Any information you guys can give would be great, because I dont want to go in there and be useless.

Bring lots of scrolls of flaming sphere... at the end... load up like 20 of them before last bats spawn (bats will detonate on them not party).

Also bring scrolls to summon fire efreeti

Other than that, keep the tank displaced/blurred and the party hasted and you should be ok.

Flaming sphere scrolls? Never heard that before or seen it used... I will look into this.

I took reconstruction on my sorc because the WF hero strategy in there works great. I also run with a LOT of wf all the time .

If you don't have heighten, you should seriously consider exchanging a feat and taking it. I am still impressed at how a level 2 spell (web) is still one of the most dominating CC spells in the end-game.

Bring a stack of full heal scrolls so you can heal yourself in emergencies or help the clerics top off the melee between rounds.

Oh and IMHO the bracers of the glacier are also a clerical item... I mean I wouldnt take it away from an arcane if he didnt have a set, but I would most definitely roll if they were available.

    Cheers and good luck

I am not one to take the bracers away from a caster... the only way my cleric would roll if the casters already had them.(If i saw another cleric rolling for them, then I would and If I won would give them to a caster, but thats just me.)

I need to look into my feats and see about taking Heighten because I almost never use web because it dosen't seem to work much.

I do have a full stack of heal scrolls so I should be good there.

I dont think I will swap out a spell for reconstruction(too many usefull spells to afford that one) I do carry reconstruct scrolls thou.

How bad do you want those bracers ? A single caster, with heightened webs and reconstruction, is able to be the only caster in VOD, raising your odds of obtaining the items you seek. You will be keeping your WF hero reconstructed and the trash under control.

So the impression I get is you have done VOD multiple times on your cleric and you never saw the arcanes spamming webs on trash mobs ? Seriously ?

Remember I am only posting about a single strategy, the WF hero. Using a high AC dps build works very well too.

I am biased towards reconstruction because WF tanks are predominant in Argonnessen.

Yes I have seen web used all the time, when I get home I will look at my character some more and see what I can change up, but yes the WF tank does work best I think.

High ac tank works best... get a 70+ ac tank in there and heal him 10 times w/ scrolls the whole instance.

I would also suggest switching out to heighten.
Acid Fog works well with the bats as well.
I throw up some fogs on Saulli and on the orthons.
I doubt you have too many De-buffers but those are always a plus.
The bats sure don't like cone of cold one bit either.
Interesting with the flaming sphere I've ever seen or heard that one before either.
The gloves and bracers can be nice on a cleric for sure, but like you guys said I wouldn't take them from an arcane trying to assemble their set.
Whenever you want to run it Butters just let me know, Marg refuses to bring his cleric after the last pug we were in, but maybe we can convince him to bring someone and get a good group together.

Sounds like a plan... but the Mohawks cleric is so gimped, can't believe you let him try, but his dwarf cleric should be alright

It is quite simple. You put a solid WF tank on Sally. He establishes aggro - the standard is shroud weaponry. Anything less will cause aggro to shift to the main group. At the second wave of orthons, the WF hero goes into turtle mode until the orthons have been dispatched.

I really like WF can you tell ?

When the WF hero gets the curse.... he can still be Reconstucted for healing .... but is still immune to regular healing spells...its just easier to keep a WF healed thru repair type spells than to have someone babysit remove curse all the time to ensure healage...
