Default Workaround for hirelings that won't shrine

(I posted this in the "Hirelings: Shrines, Switches, and Levers" thread in the "Official Discussions" category but didn't know how visible it would be there, so I decided to make a new thread for it)

We figured out last night that the hirelings seem much more inclined to use shrines if they are in "active" stance. If they are in "defense" stance I can mash away at the "use" button and they'll just stand there like "durrr" Switch them to active, they'll automatically use the rez shrine and will use the rest shrine when you ask them more often than not. And if they don't, I chuck em from party and summon a new one

Just a little workaround I thought I'd mention. I dunno if someone already suggested this or not, but it was pretty effective last night so I thought I'd share, since I now a lot of people are still reporting problems with hirelings using shrines.

Another one that sort of works is to use the "feet" to teleport them to you, when your'e standing right next to the shrine
The hard part for the hirelings is pathing to a point close enough to the shrine to rest.

If you can them close they'll rest.

So take them somewhere they cant path to you. then put yourself right next to the rest shrine and click "feet" they';ll teleport on top oif you and be close enough

One place that I seem to have a problem getting ANY hirelings to rest is in Splinterskull, in the main section - they rest ok in the round door cavern area. My guess is the back wall somehow interferes with their pathing. This is one area that I can't get the workaround to work around

Ya, I really wanna say that problem with Hirelings not using particular Rest Shrines lies solely with Shrines that the devs have buried halfway within walls. Shrines that are free-standing, they have no problem with. But every-single-Shrine I can think of that's been half buried in a wall, the Hirelings will not use.

    Frustrating.

But I'll be sure to try tips given above, in this thread (though obviously I shouldn't need to do this, and this needs a fix).

Yep half-buried ones are the problem, like the shrine inpart 3/4 of greymoon.

or the single shrine in proof is in the poison.

They cant path to the base of them. The strange thing is that players dont seem to have a problem.

I think ideally hirelings should just check distance first when about to rest. before trying to move to the base of them, which seems to the be the problem.

So if you command them to rest and the distance to the shrine is less that X they should just rest where they are standing. That would work every time.
