Default Help with a build please

    Hi guys

I want to make an Elven Fighter, that wield 2 weapons, and with High Dex (obviously)
    for a first character.

Could someone be so kind as to help with a build?

    Much appreciated.

    Default hello

There are a ton of creative minds on this board who can help you but I thought Id help start the brain juices flowing with some ideas for your build.

    1st

Strength build is the way to go.

Starting with an Elf if you put your str at 16 to start and dex at 18 to start you can end up with this:

str 16 (base) +6 (item) +4 (level up) +3 (fighter enhancements) +2 (tomage) = 31 with +10 to hit and damage
dex 18 (base) +6 (item) +0 (level up) +2 (elf enhancement line) +2 (tomage) = 28 (+9 bonus gives you a base AC of 29 while wearing mitheral breast plate +5 and having fighter armor mastery 3 (with 1 unused pt still so actually 26 dex is all u need but plan for the future I say)...... add a shield +7, prot +5 item, bark +3 and your AC is 45. this can easily be boosted by a possible dodge bonus of +1-3, +4 insight bonus and many others.... 50-55 is not out of the question self buffed.

Con 14 min to start still has potential for 22 con which is great
int some will say 13 I say go 11 and get CE later if thats what u want
    wis 8-9 is ok
    cha dupe it at 6

going straight dex build limits the types of weapons u can use and makes it very hard to fight creatures with any sort of DR. You can accomplish high AC and still have the flexibility in weapon use with a str build.

    * Im not gunna touch on the tempest possibilities because I dont know if you wanna be a pure fighter*

get the 1st two tiers of elven dragonmarks so you can keep yourself displaced giving enemies a 50% chance to miss you. This will cost you 2 feats but its more than worth it.

good feats for a build like this would be:

    2 elven dragonmarks
    2wpn fighting
    imporved 2wpn fighting
    greater 2wpn fighting
    oversized 2wpn
    stunning blow
    toughness
    improved critical X
with room for 2 more I believe

This is all on the fly so I m sure I have many errors in what Ive wrote but they wont be major errors (I hope)
Keep in mind the 31 str can still use a +3 tome if u r lucky to even out at 32
Your dex is only suffering by 4 possible pts you could have put into it but the strength will make more of a difference.

Dont get to hung up on extreme AC's for 2 reasons.......

1- something will always hit you anyway
2- with and AC of 80 you are probably hitting like a wet noodle and you wanna get you enemies down at some point I would imagine. A str build can use WoPs just as good or even better than a Dex build can.

hope this gets you thinking and the peeps who post after this one...................laters

high ac certainly comes with a reduction of dps but it wouldnt be like what you mentioned as a wet noodle. my robe weaing ranger has 34 dex but i kept a decent strength which is at 32 buffed
If you want to know why...

didnt mean for anyone to take it personally.... though I know a few may. I have a lot of pride in my characters as well...as a matter of fact one of my favorites is a rogue with a Str of 10 self buffed to 16. Its acceptable because I know my limits as Im sure do you.

would 32 buffed str be a ranger with rams might and madstone boots giving you a base str of 26.
    assuming 26 -6 str item = 20 -2 tome = 18 starting ?

all of which is very respectable........ was really trying to tell him he should start out with more than 10 str if he goes dex build I suppose...... but I tend to over explain. saying in 1 page what could have been said in 1 sentance.
