Default So how do people think Empty Body will be used in DDO, if at all....

Was looking around at monk abilities as they level, and noticed this little gem:

Empty Body (Su): At 19th level, a monk gains the ability to assume an ethereal state for 1 round per monk level per day, as though using the spell etherealness. She may go ethereal on a number of different occasions during any single day, as long as the total number of rounds spent in an ethereal state does not exceed her monk level.

    Think this makes it in?

    Two words: shadow walk.

I think that's the most we can hope for from Turbine.
My Videos Shadow Mage (ok, it's a build now)
A forum post should be like a skirt - long enough to cover the subject material, but short enough to keep things interesting.

Shadow walk and etherealness are a bit different.

As for some ideas (or mostly wishful thinking)
A stacking 5 or 10% concealment would be nice, or a non stacking 20% as that of blurry.
Doubt it would be implemented like the PnP version for the same reason we don't have the fly spell, and shadow walk is nerfed.

I would think a 20% stacking with displacment would be the right feel for ethereal. Probably implemented like fighters haste boost...20 seconds of 70% concealment.......ok, I can always wish.

I would assume etherealness would be implmented at best by making us have the same ethereal bonus as ethereal creatures do.

GT or a roll to hit, Blur being something different would be rolled separately to hit.

I think it should act like the etherial bonus that ghosts have. A ghost touch weapon should be able to hit a monk using that skill. MAke the monk look like a dead Jedi Master. If I remember right though unless the person who is ethereal has some sort of special item they cannot interact with things on the material plane. So it is primarily used as a mode of transportation since in the ethereal plane gravity is not a factor you can move vertical through ceilings or through floors.

I dont see this ability being introduced as a way to fight or give you some sort of AC bonus durring combat as it is not intented to be used in that manner unless like I said if you have an item from the Libris Mortis that gives ghosts the ability to handle material objects.

I was thinking maybe it would simply grant monks ghost touch either permanently or as a clickie.
