LOL I can't believe I just read this whole thing and not one of my guildies was mentioned..... gonna cry now.

Unsubjectively I would put Maylin at the top of a list... sefl-sufficient and badass... for a drow and all.
of course... since I live with that one it is completely biased... but I do think he is a pretty good all over player... can solo on any class and keeps my skishy butt alive.

Any Thorgudson has Melee as their middle name... I mean come on... all of them dwarfs... even the healer is much more a battle cleric than anything... and of course way fun to run with... just an all around fun person to group with... likes to look around corners though and taunt the mobs.... but ya know... keeps things interesting.

There are some others that just weren't mentioned... but of course I don't know what the criteria would be... so that is just a small list of the ones I would put up against any in the PvP ring

Nah I'm not... I joke about it a lot tho. I do use it to stay sharp... move faster kill quicker and the numbers go up...pretty red numbers

I have rules formyself in part 1. Cause I do get a bit blood thirsty.

Only break off of portals for keepers or casters, or if I see a cleric/wiz getting rushed.

Yeah I always look at where I am at the end of part 1 and where I am at the end of part 5, if I lead in kills from 2-5 I'm happy, lol. And... I usually do Almost all melees look at killcount, but some live and die by it. Give me a red named or purple named boss to solo and I'm perfectly happy.

Alexandro, Maxgore, Vikconis, Slink's Ranger, Furby's Ranger, Mofu, Pinpric, Riot, Dimz, Ghinsuu, Eyzaiah, (sorry if I missed any). I would proudly and easily duo Rainbow Elite (and any just about any other non-raid) with any of these guyz! Oh, and of course Illuminati if he ever gets his butt back in here!

I love part 2 in the shroud in pugs... Shure I can solo the fire elemental...they always feel the need to send a caster or a cleric along just in case

It's funny there have been a few over the years who have attempted the build... but they usually get distracted and multiclass halfway through. Although depending on what the final word for the lvl 20 pure fighter stuff is I may throw in two levels of rouge since he rolls with a 32 str 30 dex, and dump the armor.

But that is a discussion for mod 9 (crossing fingers)

Hey Nick, you have better gear and are a different build than Axer. On present characters it would be no contest. As far as twitch factor goes, you, Quicktoez, Axer, Naked, Spyral, Digz all are about on the same plane. There are others those are just the ones that immediately come to mind. I wouldnt put Maldini in that group but then again he never had the gear some of the other guys had.

Yeah there are still some good ones on Khyber for sure, but some of those old names - if you think back to even the old school khyber days were pretty darn good. I don't know about the old school riedra and aundair days but I imagine there were also a few good ones from way back on those servers then who don't play anymore. I mentioned Quicktoez who played well into new school Khyber. He was hella good. Axer had a mega rep on the server but also on the forums here; whereas, Quicktoez just played. He was one of the first if not the first real good battle bard.

Nick you have run with several of the guys. Some when you came over on Bigg Sexy and some with Groan. Some of them are in my circle and others like illumaniti are not. I have the feeling you have run with some of the other guys out there who are not in my circle in addition to most of the guys in my circle. Meatwad who I don't run with much of late is pretty darn good. Some of those ransack guys. I think you got the opportunity to run with clean (he is taking a break right now). I might have preferred boldrin to pigsticker if fighters were not so gimped atm, but that is just me. A guy that I run with quite a bit that you should check out is soulshaker's melee his guild is the lava divers (soul is one of the best pvp guys on the server and always plays these multiclass chars it seems usually with some ranger levels in them).

We run speed shrouds which caters to dps melee more so then other types, but I think we got alot of the guys represented on the server on those runs only a handful of the best have probably not been in those at some point at least from a dps point of few. Defensive and utility guys are tougher to measure. You got the monk splash guys, the sword and board guys that are awesome and then in a different category are some utility do it all guys. Well anyway catch you in game.

Yeah I have a fair amount of respect for Slink's ranger. I pugged into a dragonblood hound way back when I think he was level 14 and he did well on it and I was on my ranger and mantra one of the best out there was on his. Ran a few more with him and looked to recruit him for quests later, but don't know why he didn't want to keep running with us. Dimz, Dimz powerlevelling machine guy, is good at those paladin, bard, rogue type builds. I have not run with his paladin this mod which is kind of disappointing considering he is probably kicking butt on him with the new zeal changes. I have run with Riot a few times and he does well at what he does just not sure I ever agreed with the darn build. Would be interested to see if the guy were to make a Riot for todays game and gear him out - might be interesting to see what he could do with that. Illumaniti for sure is great. The other guys don't know too well although had some on runs before : Vikconis, Mofu and Furby that I can remember. Wouldn't say they stood out, but have not run with them a ton.

Mofu is moe125's (moemega) insane AC built monk. Vik, Furb, (Dragonblood)were probably in that hound run as well as slink, alex, maxgore (honorary members of Dragonblood as far as I'm concerned! ) maybe me too ... And pinpric dishes it out making it easy for all who run with him. Of course, I'm biased too... Riot's build may not be some people's way of playing, but no doubt has some awsome uses... I know you didn't mean anything negative about him, just lettin us know you have a hard time with that type of build in prefernce only I'm sure.

Yeah Moemega. Hand of the Black Tower is one of those guilds I don't know a heck of a lot about though they have done alot of awesome things in game. Were one of the first guilds to consistently run VOD on elite on Khyber for example. Moemega has a quality rep he is definitely a defensive tank guy. Our circle tends to cater more towards the offensive guys although we built alot of these high ac monk splash guys as well. I always look to recruit HOBT when they are out there and I need spots filled they tend to back it up when they get in group.

Yeah i hear ya matt and eightball - actually i think thats why i have such a good impression of khyber melee (which is why i brought Groan over in the first place) because i have been running with alot of those guys you pointed out and didnt really knw i was running with alot of the best of what khyber had to offer. Obviously i dont knw alot of the names etc. Ran with meatwad and tukaw today (altho he was on dusty his cleric). Still getting a feel for the server and enjoying it immensely. I ran with a bunch of good melee when i was here on Biggie but its harder to tell when ur on a caster.

Khyber represents well tho...again very similar to argonessen. Sarlona has got some good melees but they are fewer and further between - smaller server so it makes sence.

I guess it gets to a point where its hard to differentiate who the best is and an exact ordering is impossible. Kills dont mean a thing. I normally look at it by who is apace with me actually attacking mobs and from there you can see what sorta dmg they are doing. I knw that is biased towards a agressive zerging playstyle but most top end players zerg hard and fast from what ive seen. Also being a dps wh*re i like to see who grabs and holds red/purple name agro - thats again favouring dps types (leabing survivle/utility in the dark) but thats how i play and so how i evalutate generally.

(Khyber) . Axer is probably the best barbarian especially thf and Maldini (only ran with 3 times) was a demon at barbarian.

I once ran Tor with Maldini, back to back runz on his Barb and me on my Pali and both times we ended up tied on kills,,(I wish I would of used my Barb but don't think I had him built yet).I asked him a bunch of questions as he asked me a bunch..lotta fun! Good guy wish he dropped by again.
