Default Level 14 Barbarian ... don't want to level

I have a level 14 Barbarian. Pretty straight forward Human TWF build. He rocks just fine the way he is... tears stuff up as he should.

The only problem I have is not knowing what the future will bring. He has had enough xp to level to 15 for awhile now. In fact, I think he has enough xp that he'll be able to pretty much skip level 15 all together and hit 16 when I do decide to level him.

I just don't know what to do... looking for advice.

    Stay pure?

Who knows what kind of awesomeness the high level enhancements or possible Prestige stuff they may add for high level barbs? Tireless rage is also something I have been looking forward to.

    2 levels of Ranger?

    Eventual 14/6 TWF Tempest build.

    2 levels of Fighter?

Extra feats, strength, haste boost, etc. Also the new Fighter enhancements may yield something nice for a 14/6 Barb/Fighter.

    2 levels of Rogue?

Probably not gonna do this, but Evasion always helps.

I really wish Turbine would bring back the WDA reports or something similar so I could gain some insight on what to do with him.

For now, I just don't know. I really don't have the desire to roll up another character from scratch again and grind out the levels should I make a choice that I regret.

So I guess for now I will just wait and see. I know at some point though I will stop getting xp until I level. Anyone know what that point is?

One point below the level that is two above yours. In your case, 1 point away from 16th level.

Mod 8 is imminent - wait a little while and see what the Ftr's Wpn Specialization is going to be like.

One month ago Tempest Barb was looking like DPS king - now there's too much happening in the Ftr world to be sure...

    I've had these same thoughts.

But even if something comes out that makes Barb/Fighter look like the way to go, I probably still will be hesitant as we won't be seeing the highest level class enhancements until mod 9 at the earliest.

Its just frustrating as we are so close to level 20, yet so far away and in the dark as to what direction to take our builds.

weapon spec would be a min. of level 4 (when you can take the feat) if not higher for the enhancements; at 14 you wont get the benefit of that till the level cap increase, same with grabbing tempest or a fighter PRC. And the level cap increase is the mod after next, so to say the least you got awhile, atleast till Jan. 2009. If the lvl cap mod comes out before the new year i'd be pleasantly surprised.

Either way you'll have that character sitting at 14 for a long time, and unless you plan on banking him till changes are made you might as well level up. As the exp grind and isnt anything compared to the item grind at cap; which will be significantly easier as a lvl 16 as compared to a 14. Not to mention by planning what you want to do with that character you'll know what items you want to collect in the first place.

Unless of course you're in shortage of character slots, and wouldnt have room for another reroll if you desired to do so on the release of fighter prc's.

    I like Rog2 myself.

Evasion is the main thing, but 1d6+2 sneak attack (with enhancement) is nice at times too until you get aggro back.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

Ranger would really only be worth it if you go tempest with 6 levels. That's a long term objective, you could go with it but you won't get the benefits very soon... and you'll need to sacrifice some feats to make room for the prereqs.
So, let's say you rule out tempest. You are left with splash options that you could still take on the next level cap increase, and you'll still be effective without them if you stay pure. My suggestion would then to stay pure right now and think about it next mod when hopefully the cap increases and we have more info on the high level stuff.

    Silly Symp.

I mean Barb 14/Ftr 6 might be better than Barb 14/Rgr 6 or Barb 20, not that Ftr is going to better than Barb.

It's probably too late for you to do 14/6 Barbarian/Ranger...

You could do it, but you'd have to waste some feats... because you wouldn't get 6th level of ranger until level 20, so the free ITWF would be worthless to you...

Are the fighter prestige classes coming out in Mod 8??

If so, I'd probably try to hold off until we see more details on those...

I happen to have a 10/4/2 Barbarian/Fighter/Ranger, and I absolutely will be going to 12th level in Barbarian (I want Greater Rage, Crit Rage I, and Barbarian Intimidate)... those last two levels I had planned on going to 14 in Barbarian (for Crit Rage II), but now I'm really curious to see what 6th level fighter might get me...
