    Default The Smashy-Smashy 3-Year-Old Build

Meet Idonno (of Thelanis). A build for 3 year olds. After my son picked hair style, color, etc, I asked him what he wanted to call his character. Of course, you now know what his answer was.

This build has one purpose: To be entertaining to the youngest of players:
    1. It must be simple. Any feats or enhancements must be always on, etc.
    2. It must be soloable. This is one for dad to drive while son (or daughter) chooses what to do and swings when needed.
      • NOTE: I worked this out through level 16, but don't expect it to ever go past level 6 or so. And, 3 year olds don't mind repeating things over and over again, so when I say it needs to be soloable, I mean it in the context of repeated lower level quests. Thus, a fighter.
    3. It needs to be a 28 point build because father-son time works best when one sneaks off to another server where nobody knows us.
I stumbled onto this when I let my son drive one of my main characters for a few minutes. He wanted to smash everything. Especially Oozes. So this is a bludgeoning spec'd fighter. His favorite request:
"Papa, can I smash squishy thingies"
    Without further ado:

    Special equipment you will need:
    • Bloodknuckles Smasher
    • 3 Extra cheap Mauls for Oozes... Nope. No Muckbane. Doesn't look as cool when swinging! And everything else is way too expensive to repair for the amount of gold this toon is going to be pulling. Lol. I managed to buy us a set of +2 Full Plate after several nights of play and it totally wiped out our bank account!
So far, we've done almost everything level 1 and 2 on normal, and a couple including Durk's on hard. No deaths yet that required a recall... One death near a shrine, and about 6 almost-deaths that were bailed out by the Diehard feat. (Diehard is a really good feat for 3 year olds who want to use a maul on EVERYTHING and who occasionally stop swinging in the middle of the battle to point out something shiny. Oh My!)

    Cheers!

This just gives me a warm feeling deep down in the cockles of my heart.
I wish my son was 3 again so I could drag him off WOW long enough to enjoy smashing everything and looking for shinies together.

As a variant, consider warforged - not only do they have the "robot" look and auto-stabilization, they can also swim around the harbor all they like without the inconvenience of drowning. Death from jumping off high buildings can still be an issue, however

I'll consider a build like this once my daughter decides that simply running and jumping aren't entertaining anymore (she's just 2 and a half right now).
I'm hoping by the time Mod 9 comes around she'll be ready to actually play a little and let me drive while she smashes stuff... I may make her a barb or a monk though just for flavor...

I have a friend with a kid about the same age as mine. His kid liked the robot thing. Mine panicked when it came up as an option. Not because he was afraid of it or anything, but because he thought it was really ugly. lol. He made a red haired human with trimmed facial hair. I have no idea where that came from, but it's his character so I guess I don't have to get it.

    Default What Server?

I love playing with my kids, ages 8 and 5. If Smashy-Smashy is on Khyber, I'd be happy to provide some funds and/or gear to help things out. Ring of Feather runs as well...as I found that item was nearly mandatory on my kids' characters to prevent the repeated deaths from the two large ladder/walkways in the harbor.

PM me if I can help ya.
