    Default What is your damage mod?

    I am thinking of making a rogue multiclass, and would like see how many rogue levels are needed to attain a sneak damage bonus that comes close to an average barbarian's damage modifier.

    Therfore, my question is this:
    Counting only self buffs that can be reasonably maintained throughout shroud pt 1 (as an example), what is the damage mod of your barbarian's weapon? Assume a plain +5 weapon with no other effects.

    Do NOT include bard buffs, cleric buffs, caster buffs, madstone or scourge choker rages, or anything else that cannot be maintained for at least 15mins. Self rages are fine, as are buffs which can be renewed for a total of 15mins, (ex: potion of rage), or that can be self-cast.

    I am mostly interested in pure lvl 16 barbarians, though anyone else reading this that thinks they have a decent damage bonus can of course post their results. A breakdown of your damage modifier would be most helpfull.

    Heavenly is close to the max, I think 58 is cap with a max strength, power attacked speced warforged. But figure +40 to 45 as average for a TWF barb with power attack and max PA enhancements with another +5 burst for human versatility.

    I guess you know that, but just in case, be aware that the rogue sneak attack won't be multiplied by crits, contrary to the barbarian +bonus multiplier.

    I think my barb 14/rogue 2 is probably at something like: 15 (str mod) + 10 (power attack) + 5 (weapon) = +30. I'm not sure if I'm missing anything obvious (besides that I should get some PA enhancements, but I'm too lazy to respec )

    Edit: oh well I was dumb and forgot THF had 1.5 str multiplier, so add +7 to this.

    Vanilla 16 barb, THF:
    30 str (18+4+2+6) = +10
    Rage (10 str) = +5
    Rage pot (2) = +1
    Str Bonus for THF (16/2=8) = +8
    Power attack + enhancements (10 + 6) = 16
    weapon = +5
    = +45

    Potential additions:
    warforged power attack (all 3) = +6
    Or dorf axe damage = +2
    = +51/+47 wf/dorf

    Or TWF:
    30 str = +10
    Rage = +5
    Rage pot = +1
    (+16 from str main hand, +8 from str off hand)
    Power attack + enhancements = +8
    Weapon = +5
    = +29/+21
