Noob Moment of the year award...

SO to the person that gets the 560,000 gp for the ff ring with +5 swim you are very welcome. I was just messing around on the auction house and saw a ring for 56000 gp and figured why not i need a ring and dont feel like looking for one so hey let me just enter a bid of 56001 and let it roll. And hte noob award goes to me for not paying attention and placing hte bid for 56kpp not 56kgp. man oh man do i feel like a ****** for not double checking the box before clicking accept. only till just after did i go OH SH!T. oh well congrats to the owner of said ring i wanted to give you 56kgp for it but you got a helluva lot more.

I think we've all been there. Even if we won't admit it openly.

And as to my recent "noob" moment.... /deathing to the same inn I'm standing in. They really need to add a teleporter to meridia.

Yeah.....been there.

Then there is the Greater Dragon mark of passage icon to teleport me to the Portable Hole that looks a lot like the Lesser Mark of passage that I wanted to use to DD back to talk to the giant at the end of POP.
While everyone else was enjoying there XP for quest completion, I was loading into the Portable Hole trying to decide if I should admit my mistake and beg for someone to stay in the quest till I got back.

My favorite still has to be a Crucible run awhile back, with nothing but guildies. We finish the quest easily, loot our three chests, and head back to town. After we get back to Gianthold, we try to get our reward. Oddly enough, he's still giving us the dialogue like the quest isn't completed. Then it dawns on someone: Did ANYONE speak to the giant to actually finish the quest? This is followed by a mad dash to make it back into the quest before it resets.(Yes, we made it) We then took a vow never to speak of the incident again. Of course, it is too funny not to tell occasionally

Ouch! That's really unfortunate. But it is a great theme for a possible TOTW. Now, if only others will simply fess up to their n00bness as a contribution.

I, myself, killed my main character in the underwater section of HIPS. I'd forgotten to put on my Underwater Action ring, and allowed my character to die. What made it a candidate for the n00b of the Year award was that I was taking screen-caps the whole time, but didn't realize that my breath meter was going down. Only in reviewing the screen-caps did I realize what I'd done. It was so funny that my entire guild now takes time to warn everyone not to "pull a Trin" before going into the water. Of course, I had to add the incident to my blog, too...

Sorry about the plat, though. Someone got *really* lucky.

The only thing that concerns me at all about this is the response from the GM (Come on you know I had to at least try to get it back)...

DO they know what they are talking about when offering assistance?

Man, I would cut the guy some slack. He was polite and tried to brainstorm ideas for what might help when he couldn't directly fix your issue. And the guy even admitted it was confusion related to supporting multiple products and forgetting what features were in which ones.

I hope we never get to a point where simple human errors like that are not common... Because that would mean the humans got replaced by more things like automated phone systems... You know, the ones that never make mistakes because they are so limited that they can't really do anything for you to make a mistake on.

I believe I was running TS for the first time. Someone fell into one of the lava pits and died. I went to go retrieve his stone by jumping into the lava pit to pick up his stone. Guess what, I died :-)

I want to say thank your for all of the extra cash. The money was well spent. I was able to pick up a banishing kama and a kama of disruption. Thanks!

3 days ago I succesfully bid on a +4 Transmuting Dwarven Axe of Chaotic Outsider Bane for my dwarven tempest, thinking it'd be a very nice addition to use under the Marketplace. Then I got it and noticed it was WF only.

Well at least I don't remember how much I paid for it, and as it wasn't a buyout, I don't think it was that much.

Haven't been playing much lately due to RL. Hopped in game on my midbie Cleric/Rogue/Fighter. Was the last run before I logged to go to bed and I was very tired - we were running Crucible on hard. Butterscotch has maxed rogue skills and is quite capable of taking care of the traps. Get to the first horn, I ran over and picked it up. Just as I hit U I remembered...we are on hard...and I have no fire resistance on - instant death. Dead silence for a moment, then I just died laughing.

Doh!

So while alcohol makes you do n00bish things, so does being exhausted.

While I have had many noob moments myself my fav is a guildie of mine. I am running my 12th lvl ranger in the vale with his sorc to hold my hand to the explorers. He says hey you want haste. Sure then he teleports to the portable hole while the mob is coming leaving me to get destroyed. He swapped his hotbars around and forgot he reassign haste to a new button.
