Default Twilight Avengers Blue Section Recruiting

Consider this a friendly reminder to those on Khyber that the Twilight Avengers are currently recruiting new players.

    Why join TA?

    1) Raid. A lot. Raids are usually scheduled a few days or more ahead of time. The number of raids changes somewhat from week to week, but you'll usually have at least 10 chances to sign up for something each week, and sometimes many more. Anyone can schedule a raid, and members are encouraged to schedule them whenever it suits them so that everyone can participate as much as possible.

    2) Scheduled events. This mostly includes Raids, but can also include loot runs, favor runs, or whatever else a member wants. The idea is that we post an event and start on time. For someone like me with a lot of other things besides DDO going on a chance to get in, get the job done, and get out. OK, I don't really have much of a life outside of DDO, but if I did I swear this would help.

    3) Work as a team. One of our primary focuses as a guild is to have everyone work as a team. If you've ever run a Shroud run (or other quest) with us, you'll notice that everyone has a job to do and is expected to get it done. This leads to more effective quest completions and is a lot more fun than a party wipe. This aspect also challenges each of our members to be the best they can be, since the rest of the group is counting on them to perform certain tasks.

    4) PLS system. We have a point system for dividing up Raid loot. Without getting into detail here, the system rewards those who run Raids. It also allows members to choose how many points to spend on an individual item - if I am willing to spend 2 points and you think an item is worth 6, you'll win the bid and keep it. How do I know this system works? Because in all my time with TA I've never even heard of an argument over Raid loot within the guild.

    TA Requirements

    1) Play your main. Pick a main toon and play him/her/it. This doesn't mean you can't play alts, but we expect your main toon to have the best gear you can manage. We also expect you to know the character inside and out so that you can play effectively within our team.

    2) Raid. There is no set activity requirement, but why pay your monthly fee if you aren't going to play? Inactive players are purged after one month, and we usually expect members to attend one raid per week on average. We have an AFK section for members to post when real life is getting in the way (illness, vacation, overtime at work, whatever) - as long as you let us know we're more than happy to work with you.

    3) Check the guild forums. Most members check at least once per day. We expect everyone to check at least once or twice per week. We use the forums to schedule events, to pass on important information to each other, trade items, or just poke fun at each other.

That's it. We're an organized group, but we're not Nazis. Our members have jobs, kids, significant others, etc. If you show up regularly and bring something to the group, we'll be happy to have you.

    How to join TA

    1) Contact an officer. Any member of Twlight Avengers or our alt guild (Twilight Defenders) should be able to point you in the direction of an officer. Many of us can also be reached on the DDO Forums.

    OR

    2) Check out our web site. http://www.twilightavengers.org/ddo.

    Questions?

Look up any officer in game, or send us a PM on the DDO boards. You can also post any questions on the web site above.

Welcome Back Kahbel! We missed you. It's always good to see IC's interest in a TA recruiting ad.

Since you ask, I'll be glad to explain our points system in more detail. As Loca said, the system prevents disputes over who gets the raid loot -- there is no one to tell you who has the greatest need, or the loot going to someone that is more vocal. Anyway, here's how it works:

    1. Whoever the item is assigned to by the game has first rights. They just spend 6 points (even if it they don't have 6 points, totals can go negative) and it is theirs.
    2. If the puller doesn't want it, then anyone can have it for 6 points. The person with the highest point total gets the item, with preference of mains over alts. If you are on your main with 8 points, and an alt with 20 points wants it too, you win over them because you are a main character. Only the person getting the item spends the points.
    3. If it doesn't go for 6 points, then it is offered up for 4 points. Anyone willing to spend 4 points rolls on the item, with the high number getting it. Only the winner spends the points.
    4. If it doesn't go for 4 points, then it is offered up for 2 points. Anyone willing to spend 2 points rolls on the item, with the high number winning. Only the winner spends the points.
    5. If it doesn't go for 2 points, the original puller gets it for free.

I hope this clarifies it. It's really simple once you see it in action.

    Cheers,
    Ink

Actually our Raid schedule is pretty easy... It happens whenever someone in TA schedules one... Which can be anytime really. And by no means are you required to hit every single one.

I think most section leaders ask that you hit 2-3 raids a week. Which is easy to do when they are scheduled. Log in, do raid, log out.... Sometimes there'll be 2-3 back to back, and you can pick any or all of them.

Our raiding schedule is anything but rigid.

Twilight Avengers is organized around sections of 12 Avengers. Each section has a section leader, a section lieutenant, and up to 10 members. Sections have zero affect on who members play with, or what they do.

Basically, a section is just an organizational tool so that members know who to discuss any problems with. If an Avenger has a problem, they talk to their section leader or lieutenant. If they have a problem with another member, they talk to his/her section leader or lieutenant.

Hey, Flint - you are always welcome in our runs. I just have a hard time remembering all of the "yous" that there are.

Hmmm, thread seems shorter than when I last read it. Wonder what happened.

Don't forget about the super secret Pink section in TA. They keep it really hush hush, but it's by far the most fun

I had a great time playing last night in the TA Shroud completion run, I think I was the only one that died :P

Now that Saaren is on timer, I will get my rogue/ftr equipped with dual-wounding weapons, and see if I can get her into another Shroud run with you guys.

I have a question. Do you have a guild policy against using exploits to complete quests easier?

I got kicked out of TA because of arguing about the PLS system, but okay.
