New Game DVD Replacement

Ok, so here's the deal. I have a pre-order copy of the DDO Client and every time i have to do a re-install i have the dreaded Three hour download update to get things back on track(I'm on a cable connection so hate to think what its like for someone on dial-up). I would love to see (and would prolly fork out another 10 bucks for it) an up to date dvd client disk. you know, one that has all the goodies up to and including Mod6 on it. That way I have a hard copy and wouldn't have to wait three hours to play whenever I needed to re-install the game for any reason. It would be very cool to see what you all think about this Idea. will never happen as turbine does not make the cd's the publisher does. best you can do is download the updated client from the forums and burn to disc

Ya i know i could burn it myself,, but was just thinking that maybe a re-release(cause i don't like to fuss)with maybe some added bells and whistles would be worth a thought for sales and marketing. maybe with an upgraded item we could claim for higher lvl characters like we had with the founders helm. I know i would pay a bit more for the added convenience and it might be a good marketing Idea for Turbine.

So you want more content? That didn't take long.

As it is, you take your existing CD/DVD, download the updates and burn the updates to another CD/DVD and now you have the official 2-disc box set. That's the only way to get what you're looking for.

After that you could take a fancy dinner napkin from the Olive Garden and draw a map of Stormreach and you'll have everything most of the other MMO's have in their "Collectors Edition".

as it was stated before. Turbine has no authority over Re-releasing the game with an updated disc. only Atari, the publisher can do that, and as of right now, they are too **** broke to do that. so unless you become a multimillionaire by winning the lottery and pay atarti to update DDO, it wont happen.

Best thing to do is to backup the Client_*.dat files (9 or 10 of them ) before re-isntalling. That is the bread and butter of the game. Re-install the game and before you run it for the first time, copy thos files back to the install folder. Now you will not need to wait for all the updates again. It should just update you client.exe file and leave the data files alone.

You can just copy and save your old DDO folder when you format or whatever. Then copy it back and the game will run on a fresh version of Windows, no need to install or anything.

I even took my portable HD to a friend's and ran the game from for that a little time when my internet was down...
