Huh...I'd have thought a Helm of Wizardry VI would cost more than a scimitar of smiting. Espeically since it's more mana to a sorcerer.

I disagree, with the toughness/heavy fort Helm and a guaranteed Wiz 6 Robe once you turn in your Silver Flame Trinket (once Abbott is fixed) - Wiz 6 while still a great item Helms aren't worth what they once were.

But I guess that's the good thing about opinions - everyone's allowed to have a different one.

Well while there are many truths to that, not everyone wants to wear the robe. So the helm still retains alot of its value. Expecialy in the clericing world. Its just annoying for me to worry about having to use 200 mana (skiver) before equiping my superior devotion...50 mana is alot less of a hassle. So really this is something in the eye of the beholder. So where as the helms may not be nearly the value they once were, they still have a high value today depending on the person.

Agreed. The standard robe on my Sorc is Fearsome (of Hammerblock). I also have a nice collection of Greater Resist Robes; some with Fearsome, some with the opposite elemental effect as guard pre-fix (ex. Cold Guard Robe of Greater Fire Resist). Any other slots that would work for Wiz item are already taken (spell pen, concentration, DC bonuses and potency).
I really like this set-up I have now with a Wiz 6 Helm.
