Giving away all my ****

Thanks to Vlahd for finding me a new time killer I'm moving on to Hellgate. So, I'm going to be hosting an event with my buddies in which I'll be tossin all my **** out to the residents of Thelanis. Normally I'd say screw all of you that weren't on Xoriat but I've had a great time in these last few weeks with some of the natives that I've been rollin with and I've come to change my perception of the weak RP'ers.

So, in honor of them it'll be a more story driven event. No roleplaying necessary; although it will garner you extra points. Will definitely also have a PvP part to it as well to honor my brothers in arms from Xoriat. Although it won't be anywhere near as restrictive as Tuffman's Comp.

As to the prizes, here's a quick list. The list will undoubtedly be expanded when I get my buddies in on it as they'll probably want to donate to the fun. You can expect (from only me at this time):

Ok, Well thats some of it got plenty more that I haven't listed, greater banes, cold iron pure goods etc. etc. I still have 2 more vaultbots to sift through and haven't listed stuff I carry on my actual toons. I'm doing this mostly in hopes of seeing my greatest dream come true before I leave: That I can have one, just ONE night in this game w/o seeing SOMEONE b*t*h and/or complain. Man this game is chalk full of crybabies. It's almost, but not quite, as bad as SWG was.

My account runs up on the 28th so we'll shoot for the 23rd-25th time frame (the last weekend before). Suggestions for the event are always welcome.

Edit: I'm leaving the game, so please stop the PM's to buy/trade/sell (wrong forum anyway). Besides, trust me, there's nothing you possibly have that I want or need.

And Don't get me wrong, DDO is a fan-f***ing-tastic game as far as MMO's are concerned. And I've played most of 'em. We have a great community for the most part. But the whole MMO thing is just getting old and hellgate is at least satisfying my undying urge for sci-fi that was left wholly unsatiated thanks to SWG. It will tide me over until 4th ed. and it's online utilities are released next year. Anyways, gotta jet, got work to do. Peace out ya'll.

I've noticed that the probability of a person coming back to a game grows directly with the amount of their gear the give away / characters they delete.

The more of your gear you give away, the more likely it is that you'll come back to the game and regret having done it. I'm thinking of calling it Jonathan's Law.

I too, hate to see one of the old guard go.
I was not originally from Xoriat, but one of my alts has run with Mechanic.

I had a guildie (who was a founder) leave for WoW.

I am sure you have given it some thought before you decided to leave, but I would hold off on getting rid of all of your stuff unless you are positive you won't be back.

You have invested allot of time in earning everything you have.
It would be a shame to throw it all away, Then come back and be wishing you hadn't.

my advice (for what it is worth) is Take a break;
Try Hellgate and if you find you like it better Then host the event.

If you find you like DDO better, then I will look to adventuring with you in the Future.
But
in the end it is your choice

If you choose to go, I will be honored to be there at your send off.

Have a plan just in case i have a lot of friends in hellgate too i might take a break but wont give stuff away .Seeing the gear u have u definitaly are a dedicated player hellgate is like diablo hardcore gamers will be done in 3 months ,wich i think is the case for u ill be there too but ill keep my stuff here.Because by X-mas everything will have been done in there.

just take a break and come back. its fun, your friends are here. just give it a rest. it will befun again, and the devs notes say that for the next mod they've fixed the raid so Touch of Dolurrh only lasts until you are teleported to the puzzles.

I'm just a step from walking myself man, canceled one of my two accounts and currently playing another MMO.


I did this about 5 months ago and it was refreshing to come back for a change, fortunatly I didnt give my gear away.


Actually i think i posted my 1st doom post today, kinda anyway. Im still MAD as hell bout the raid change.
