that +1 is kinda like 5% which is kinda like saying it's just a vorpal...
to each their own and all that... but do you regularly ****oo a vorpal?

not to mention the boots have a decent striding % on them as well...
so really it frees up your cloak or ring slot or trinket slot... so potentially that could free up a resist cloak or god knows what else...

so comparing boots to a +4 ring/cloak or even kardins eye are not applicable... and in this game some people got nothing to do but find ways to increase their saves by 1

If you are asking if I use vorpals, I don't. By time I roll a 20, it's either gonna be dead, or is **** close to being dead already. Besides..I try to do as much damage as possible with my characters.

You are right, to each their own. Still boggles the mind though. +15 stride boots, over +30% stride, or +6 Dexterity, or something of the like. I suppose you can swap the boots when needed, but then that defeats the purpose of the +1 to resistance. Just wear a +4 cloak...or that Eye thingy.

I guess a bonus would be it freeing up cloaks, so you can use greater resists..but eh..that's what the spell is there for.

I'm not one for aggro-vations in my living world, much less in my pass time video game. That being said, be cool to one another. no need to drop some slander into a simple thread. I'm not sure whether jaysen made his bid with serious intent, and the follow up was to shake off any other interested parties. But I'm going to assume the worst. So unless the brother speaks up again, with some positivity, that brings us to ....

Think about this item from a caster or some bards perspective. They constantly cast haste so striding boots have little to no value and dex is not a primary attribute for either classes and besides there are other areas where you can get a dex item - gloves and even bracers if you so desire. There is just not that many good boots that casters and bards will wear on a regular basis such that i know of quite a few casters who wear skill item boots (balance, jump, etc...) because of this item gap. I would love to get those boots on my bard - it would free up a ring slot (+4 resistance), but I do not have the money to make that kind of bid..

Still sucks. I mean..what are your saves now? I am willing to bet, fully buffed and everything, all your saves hit the high teens to low twenties. If you are severly ****ing uber? Probably mid to hgh twenties.

So lets go with that 'normal' area of a buffed person being at say.. +22 +18 +25 on saves (Fortitude/Reflex/Will). That's with a +4 Resistance item. With these saves, you are fine on any quest, on any diffuctuly, anywhere, any time, with hookers abound. (With acception to maybe Reflex.)

So...now you get +5 resistance. You now have +23 +19 +25. OH MY GOD! Look out Stormreach! JoeBlow has upped all three of his saving throws by ONE FRIGGEN POINT! He now not only fails on a one; but he still...still....fails on a one? Hmm...

Or..in the case of reflex, you get to suceed on a 4 instead of a 5. Amazing...Totally worth the 850,000 platinum

For me, it would be a nice piece of gear.....it boils down to slottage.....
