If it's not a horrifically bad choice and you can't stand playing it, just get to 20 and do a normal tr (or 30 and epic tr!) so you get past life bonuses.

Diablo 3 had a nice and easy to use wardrobe. When you got an item that could be glamored (might be all of them?) it unlocked that cosmetic, and you could go to the enchanter and change at will.

Is hide armor medium? If you're not proficient with an armor you don't get the prr bonus.
