Part of me is just filled with dread.
Those are some long release notes...
Lots of good stuff!
Release notes says Warlock capstone "stays at 20% sacred bonus". It was not a sacred bonus before. Is this a typo?
If is was changed to sacred, will it stack with the competence bonus from EDF? Secretly hoping it does :D
Obviously any current Heroic Completionist will de-activate until a Alchemist past life has been done. Will we be getting a token of some kind like in previous instances where a feat has been de-activated
release notes say that the default is you only can strikethrough while standing still...pretty sure that Coco said it was changed to no longer need the two handed fighting feat to strikethrough while moving.
thanks Cordovan for the quick reply. typos and whatnot are expected with a release(notes) of this magnitude. just wanted to make sure. i appreciate all the hard work put in by everyone at SSG
I guess alchemist spells are now affected by spell resistance/spell penetration? Darn, was hoping that wasn't the case. Lucky druids and artificers....
The bullet points on this block are indented incorrectly: the Melee/ranged boost and AB attack should be on their own level one left.Quote:
Rally: replaced with Critical Mastery +1/2/3
Exalted Cleave: Reduced to 1 rank at 2AP (with third rank's effects)
NEW: Multiselector: Ranged attack version.
Melee/Ranged Power Boost: Unchanged
MOVED: Multiselector: AB Attack
Really looking forward to the banking improvements! Sound and fury about balance stuff aside, that might be the biggest change for most players here, and definitely for the better.
Will the Accelerate Spell feature be included in the Alchemist feat list (and artificer feat list too)?
The Anniversary Event Returns
DDO's anniversary event is back with new rewards and more! Available now through March 8th.
Is there more information on this?
Just gone over the release notes and I am appalled. There is nothing for me to moan about.
Everything suits my character choices and play-style. I just rebuilt my Monk and you haven't even nerfed that; in fact you've increased its hit points.
The Devs must try harder to annoy those of us who don't play the way the "elitists" insist we should.
Dragonborn aren't able to use their breath weapon while raged, apparently it's coded like a spell. My thought is that if a dragonborn is raging it's going to use its breath weapon, maybe try to eat a face, have a halfling snack mid-fight.
Is breath weapon WAI and can I please melt an opponent while raging some time soon?
What - and do something to benefit players? They would rather just remove anything that helps players...
Years in the making...nerf from orbit: burn baby burn!Quote:
Guilds
Airship Cargo Hold stat buff and resistance amenities are no longer sold. Convenience amenities remain available.
"Cleric Feats: Greater Domain of Destruction now grants +5% Strikethrough Chance (replacing its previous Glancing Blow bonus)"
It seems like all the feats/enhancements had their Strikethrough chance increased quite a bit after the second preview except for the cleric feat... :(
The older feat gave +3% doublestrike and +3 glancing blows. The new feat only helps THF type builds and leaves out the majority of clerics who use sword and shield or SWF. So it is a direct downgrade for most cleric builds that use that domain. (Not many cleric are two handed fighters.)
Any chance of bringing it up to par, maybe 20% strikethrough, or adding back the 3% doublestrike? A few of the +5% enhancements/feats before the second preview were increased to 20%.
It's a level 9 domain feat and the level 9 feats the other domains give are quite a bit better than just +5% Strikethrough. For example, at level 9 War domain gives: tactical DCs are increased by half your Cleric level. +5% Strikethrough all by itself is a rather weak bonus.
"Knightforge Spike is now 18-20/x3, down from 16-20/x3."
Small typo, the weapons are "Nightforge" not "Knightforge."
Guilds
Airship Cargo Hold stat buff and resistance amenities are no longer sold. Convenience amenities remain available.
Do the current stat and resistance amenities continue to function? Do already stacked up certificates continue to work?
If its is only those are no longer sold - but existing ones continue to work - then that is a huge advantage for existing, larger guilds over smaller or new guilds.
Please clarify.
I'm glad Mem took the lead on this one. I was already scheming on finding an inappropriate image of Judge "Dread" doing unspeakables...
Good luck on the update! Hope all goes smoothly. We are hoping for a Apollo 11 mission. Would like to avoid an Apollo 13 but would still be okay. Just don't want a Challenger incident.
You could have gone back to the 4 basic main character classes.
You could have introduced a Kara-Tur theme.
You could have removed artificers.
But how in all seriousness (in terms of gameplay) does it hurt the game if we keep our cargo Ship buffs?
2 reapers + 1 champion Debuff + 5 casters + no elemental ship buff = WIPE.
I'm so glad we pay you to twist the knife like that to us.
Guilds
Airship Cargo Hold stat buff and resistance amenities are no longer sold. Convenience amenities remain available.
Maybe in Update 46 we can have a decrease in guild ship size as there is no need for a 4 deck ship and 40+ Hookpoints with nothing to put in them:)
The game worlds have reopened.
I'm so sad paladin doesn't have an option for a bastard sword favored weapon. It's the most iconic weapon for shield users.
Weeee alchemists!

I tend to point out, very pedantically, that the typical one-handed sword for use with a shield is what very many games call the Broadsword. It cannot be used two-handed, except occasionally by placing your off-hand on the pommel for a strong piercing attack.
Bastard Sword, or Hand-and-a-Half Sword, is a one-handed sword that can be used two-handed for extra strength.
Longsword is a two-handed sword that can be used one-handed, basically because it's so light and so extremely well balanced at the hilt that you can do so (it has this in common with the Japanese Katana, though that's a rather different weapon) ; but it's a two-handed weapon, with a basic technique similar to basic quarterstaff stance (quarterstaff lets you do stuff impossible with a longsword ; OTOH longsword has the massive advantage of being pointy, sharp, and far more deadly).
not sure if its just me but the spell vendors are not working for me.. i click on the option for my class and no window comes up.. tried with both vendors ...nothing happening.
did the entire epic delares tomb and all i got was the voice of the master and the epic version on the end reward list ...is this WAI ?
the confirmation for going to your guild airship is back is this also WAI ?
Re improved archers focus - notes mention that you added 10% alacrity to bows, didnt mention that you changed the passive +5 to melee/ranged to +10 to melee?
The new shared bank features only work for item newly added it. I emptied my shared bank and refilled it and it works properly now. Can we now have these for the TR cache too?
Thanks for the update to the Anniversary Party ! I had several good laughs with that ! :o
And thank you for that Gatekeeper's Grove ! (GG) I only wish it would be a tiny bit bigger ..
overall looks like a really nice update... but the nerf to IPS makes me sad :(
Release notes still have some mistakes:
Under COMBAT, Combat style feats, The Two Handed Fighting Feat is now: While Two-Handed Fighting: +60% Strikethrough Chance. You can now Strikethrough while moving.
Should prob not mention moving with strikethrough anymore.
Also, under FEATS: Rapid Reload now increases the reload speed of Great Crossbows, Dual Light Crossbows, and Dual Light Crossbows by less than before.
This should prob say DECREASES.
Found 2 bugs/ My Aasimar still has a red face when stoneskin is on, :P
2. My guild airship no longer shows the cosmetic colors.
Also, when using the 64 bit client for the first time, my toon was transperent with a leaf motif swirl
No, this is a false perception that was created in many gamers by AD&D 1st Edition (but you are right that it's a D&D thing). Also, originally in AD&D, there was no such thing as an "exotic weapon".
If you look at videos by mediaeval weapons specialists, the Hand-and-a-Half sword was used alternately one and two handed.
I can see no bastard swords in the 5E Player's Handbook, but instead there's a longsword usable both one-handed and 2-handed. Can see no exotic weapons either.
In RW a bastard sword is shorter than a longsword.
We're playing a game where people can shoot fireballs, and dragons breathe acid, and God is a Spider woman of ill repute... and this is the realism hill we're choosing to fight on?
Its fantasy. Reality is irrelevant. No one cares how medieval people did things, they also ate sturgeon pie and died of cavities.
The only things that matter here are 1s and 0s applied to mechanics, and who's gonna bring me a taco.
No seriously, I'm hungry, wheres my taco?
You need to roll for Initiative !

I wouldn't know about any of the new fun stuff, the update broke my launcher. "There was an error generating the hash code for a patch file. Cuts out at 55 percent
