I was about to TR, and now won't be able to run the entire chain...
Any reason for this?
This is disappointing, P.B.I. starts an important chain for low level characters. Hopefully it will not be down that long. Might I ask why its been closed? I ran it on elite 4 times in the last week and it didn't evince any bugs that I could tell.
I think it was my fault. I was dual-boxing, entered on elite, and realized my toons were no longer grouped.
I quit both sessions because my wife & child were screaming for attention.
I ran this a week ago too. No problems.
No, seriously, of all quests to be closed, why this one?
Maybe they are getting around to putting Zeef's named item back in.
Ran the chain last night on elite. Didnt have a Problem.
When this was announced, it didn't affect me. No characters in that range.
Tonight, I took advantage of the character slot sale, and I made a new monk (never tried monk before).
The good news? Monks rock. The bad? I CAN'T RUN THE FREAKING BAUDRY CHAIN.
Can we please get a reason (however roundabout) and/or a time estimate on this?
Hang on. People are complaining that the Baudry chain is unavailable?! An obnoxiously easy sit-around-and-pike defense quest, a bloody stupid smash crates quest, and ONE normal hack-n-slash quest?!
I almost always skip the chain anyway, as the first two annoy me.
It's a bit annoying, but I always run it anyways. Small Eberron dragonshards drop for me quite often in the third quest, and those sell for a bundle on the AH.
It also helps when I discovered there is a chest in each of the first two quests, and that the optional orange-names in the third quest have twice the chance of spawning if you enter the rooms from both entrances in turn.
An ETA would be nice. I run quests in a very specific pattern as I simultaneously level 32 characters in a soloing competition. In about 160 quests from now, this one will be next, and I'm basically stuck if it's not available.
Sorry guys, I think this is my fault.
I'm running a brand new soloist experiment. On the 11th, I decided I'd had enough for the day, so I parked my character outside of this quest in anticipation that I would get to it the next time I logged in.*
Upon logging in the next evening, I find this quest has been closed. To paraphrase Murphy's Law, any quest that I'm getting ready to do will be closed just prior to me doing it. So yeah, this was totally my bad. Sorry 'bout that :D
[*I mean this quite literally, I was actually was parked right outside the quest door, it was to be the first thing I did the next time I logged in].
Anybody know what the Space Mountain exploit was?
http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/l...,7046554.story
Apparently some passengers were not actually able to reach space on it. Has since been confirmed by a Disney employee that it was not WAI.
Or something.
Back on topic: Guess I'll have to try invis running Stealthy Repo on my TR instead. Or farm that one level 2 quest that takes like 2 minutes tops. Or run the CH quests this life. Or Tangleroot/Catacombs to make up for it. Or...
You get the picture.
uhhh, yup.Quote:

The reason for this is that any player should be able to solo some EE quests (you can blame marketing).
And this will be a good preparation for other EE quests (some kind of newbie training).
They should re-open the quest on Wayfinder, as a lag spike should be much easier to detect there. Coincidentally, that is also the server I want to run the quest on :-)
Wow. Kobold Hate is apparently a new feature.
Kobold hate entire GAME. Not forget you, the developers, and certainly not boxes. :)
Thanks for catching this one and hope it's not a big inconvenience until the kobold vengeance is throttled down. Otherwise one of them is going to hijack our toons, exit into the real world, burn out our eyes, blow up all our cars and make us eat Tastee Wheat.
Or am I confusing this with a movie?
Wow, after more than 5 weeks and it is still unavailable.
Is that a record for effectively 3 quests to be unavailable?
In that time we have 3 lots of scheduled maintenance for the servers that were opportunities for it to be fixed.
There has been no information on when then the quest will be fixed.
Update 18 on Lamannia has the quest available but without release notes don't know if this was because it's been fixed or they just haven't bothered to make it unavailable.
Would appreciate an update as I'd like to do these quests at level until then I'm off to Neverwinter.
Well Update 18 is here and quest is still unavailable
Be nice to have an update, maybe if I phrase the question the right way:
When will my Bladeforged Paladin Iconic Hero from Shadowfell Conspiracy Collector's Edition be able to run the Baudry Cartamon quest chain?
There that ought to get a Dev response.
On the plus side I have got my Neverwinter character to level 20 and claimed my free horse mount.
At what point do we start using quotes around the temporary part of the description?
i.e.
"Temporary" Quest Closure: Protect Baudry's Interests
It sure would be nice if I could run those three quests on my soloist character. At this point I'm way beyond them. But given my soloist rule set, I'm going to have to do them once they become available, four times each (once per difficulty level). Which means there are 12 quests I have to do, back to back, where I will get zero xp. Not really looking forward to that (I usually like those quests, for a level 2 set anyway, but running them 4 times each over and over is just going to be a grind).
And yeah, I could skip them. But I set up my rules as a soloist for a reason, and if I don't do the quests I won't feel like I've done what I set out to do. So yeah, I'm going to have to do them.
Is somebody working on this? How hard is it to get a Kobold to target a box? I'm a programmer myself, and I know **** happens, and it's probably much harder than I think for Reason X or Reason Y, but it doesn't really seem like it ought to be all that difficult to get a Kobold AI to hate on a box without it messing up the server. So what is the holdup? Do you guys need me to come down there and fix it for you? :)
This quest will not be reopening today, sorry!
Remove the box, instead of having the objective to protect the now non-existent box for 5 minutes, make a new objective of killing 50 Kobolds or something.
Then let people move onto parts 2 and 3.
We're gamer geeks. We should be used to going long periods of time without a box...
(Obviously a gender-biased comment, but it opens up too many Pandorian *ahem* boxes to try and make it PCish.) :)

I'm guessing Baudry is no longer interested in his quest?
Can't believe this is still down... well OK I can but you get the idea.
Just TR'd and tried to run it without even thinking it may still be stuffed. It isn't the most helpful or informative response (you just appear outside again) maybe they need to add some code to INFORM (yes I know you dont like doing that Turbine) the players.
If those kobolds don't know how to hit the box
(AI heats the cpu's when thinking about that)
maybe try to replace it with a statue (stoned Baudry himself or his wife/kid/cat/dog/octopus), npc to protect (I knew there was a small titan inside that box!) or pile of gems (kobolds know how to pick them)
OK, on Lamannia Update 18 patch 2 has arrived and is the quest fixed?
Well there are at least release notes this time but they only list fixes of special note which doesn't include Protect Baudry’s Interests.
Given how long the quest has been unavailable I'd have thought having it fixed would be worth a special note.
But checking the known issues doesn't include Protect Baudry’s Interests anymore which is a good sign.
As was the case with Update 18 on Lamannia the quest is open and doesn't appear to have changed at all.
Would be good to know if the quest will be fixed in this patch but to me it's not certain yet.
Still not fix ***
any word on when you might bother to fix this issue for your customers? how many months do you need to make a statement?
Let's update the counter, shall we?
Time: 2.5 months

OK, so what I have gathered from various places on the Forum.
The next update will be 19 for ShadowFell Conspiracy which is currently scheduled for Aug 19th.
The Release notes on Lamannia at the moment has Baudry Cartamon's Interests fixed.
This also gives a reason for why it is taking so long, the quest isn't just being fixed it has been re-designed along with the entire harbour.
Well, I am now regretting my original decision when the quest was first closed to just wait for the next update. I thought quests are normally fixed straight away, I can wait a week or two the most it would surely take.
But once you've waited a month an extra week or two isn't much more and before you know it more than two months has passed.
Now that the wait looks to be for a further 48 days I now know to move on.
What would have been great is that given that it must have been known for quite a while by the devs that the quest was being re-designed that we were told there was going to be no quick fix but actually take 4 months and one week (129 days) before we could run the quest again.
they explained it was a lag issue, and they are working on it.
I believe that this will probably be reopened about the time the implement the stealth update, it seems that the two are intertwined. So it is being quietly tested on lamannia.
Ya know, I thought I was the only one that actually ran those quests, everyone I know always complained that they were time consuming, and didn't give much rewards...
Wow?!?! Your acquaintances are nuts. The first part is on timer, the second part is a fast run through busting boxes. The final part was the same, but stopping to swing or cast and collect loot. I did only run it once though, never twice.
I agree with them on being bad loot. All the harbor is now bad loot. Before I could get something interesting(ioun stone, Bottle of Air, Mark of XYZ) but my latest efforts on Sarlona have yielded absolutely zero things of interest in the harbor for the characters I have ran through there. The lone Pale Lavender Ioun Stone I picked up was in the DEPTHs chain.
Harbor is being reworked because many of the new players quit after playing the harbor. For some reason, Turbine thinks the problem is the quests are the problem and not just because the new players decided the game wasn't for them based on many other issues besides the quests.
During my time, this will be the second re-write of the harbor. Something different I guess.
Epic Snitch is broken too, don't forget to fix that turbine.
Update: We have completed work to clear up the performance issues in Protect Baudry's Interests, and the quest will reopen with the launch of the Expansion (Update 19). Thanks for your patience!
We made good progress with this as well (turns out it wasn't the quest but things going *into* the quest). Now that we know what to scrub for, we'll have some fixes going in to address it too.Quote:

It required a lot of exploration and learning (which is fine, really; just time consuming). Sometimes it was very hard to find quests that were my level (and not too high or low).
Second--and this is mitigated a lot by the fact that I have a duo partner available 100% of the time--the grouping system was very hard to use.
Beyond those two issues, as a newer player, I didn't personally have any problems with the game.
Things like enhancements, or spell crits, or high level content, etc; none of that in any way made any sense to me as a brand new player.
Temporary, my butt!!! From mid-April to late-July is definitely NOT temporary! I just made a new character and I have no idea when I'll be able to do this quest which is a huge deal for low levels! Thank you Turbine for letting me down more than ever before :(
I believe it will get fixed with the next major update, but yeah, kinda sucks. I have eight characters I can't level because they're scheduled to run this quest next, and it up will be up to twelve in a few days.
Wow, I'm not the fastest tr, but I tend to do two week tr's or so. I can't remember the last time I ran that quest series, poor xp, no named loot, tiny favor, boring design. Why in the world would you stop playing a toon from not being able to run such poor quests.
(yes it should have been fixed sooner, but your response is really really really seriously extreme.)
I have 32 first life characters between 3rd and 11th level. I am levelling them all the same way, running all the same quests in a specific order, and keeping track of how well each character does at various stages. Ten of these character are now stuck waiting for this quest to re-open. Soon it will be 12. The other 20 have all completed it.
Baudry's interests: the not so temporary quest closure.
They wanted revenge because they still hate us. Because we took their favorite thingamathing thing. Also, they remember Waterworks. They hate us, and our killing, and our stealing, and our hating.
And they have gotten their revenge in true Kobold fashion. By locking us all out of 3 very low-level, completely unnecessary quests.
