disappointment

I am disappointed with the Ghallanda server. Over the last 3-4 days I have been geeked to run all the new content and have fun exploring new areas, learning to techniques for defeating quests, and enjoying NOT running the shroud. I wanted to defeat all the new stuff on Elite and see what chalenges the DEVs have decided to throw at us this time.

Unfortunately over the last few days I see a whole lot of people doing all the same stuff. At one point this weekend I saw 5 Shroud LFMs up at the same time and not one new content LFM. Revers and hound runs were popular again. I created my own LFM for the white dragon on Elite and after 25 minutes of only one person asking to join, I decided to go do something else.

How many post were there over the last few months pleading for more content. How many people complained about how boring the shroud is now. In yet, when new content comes out, you STILL run the Shroud over and over? I have heard and read people saying, "let's let the power gamers figure out the quests and then we can steal there methods and run it with ease" Are you (*&$*&%$ serious! Don't casual players always complain that power gamers never really stop to smell the roses. Isn't using someone elses method, not truly enjoying the adventure?

If you havnt had the chance to run the new content yet, the dungeons are SWEET! I mean, think of the book The Hobbit. When Bilbo is undergound in the koboldish caves. What kind of underground nest did you imagine in your head? The kobold quest is EXACTLY what I had imagined and to see the work they did to bring that to life was very cool. The White dragon (s) (spoiler) look very cool. (although a bit weak) The Monks are BADASS. They have very high ACs, and hit like a Mack truck. Some challenging puzzles that do not require major twitch skills. Lots of chests for the loot wh0re in you.

I have ran all four new quests several times, I have three of the four done on Elite. If you are willing to try, and maybe try a few times, to complete the White dragon on Elite, I will be on around 8:30 EST and will be looking for a few good men.

So, in closing, I am a little disappointed that the best server in Stormreach would rather run old content then challenge themselves at new content. If you agree with me and would like to try to challenge yourself, meet me tonight.

I am baffled as well. (out of town right now so I'm not playing ANYTHING)

That's really all there is to it. I don't get it. My biggest complaint on the new quests is just that there aren't enough of them. They are very cool quests.

I'm not trying to hate on people that still need large scales - I do too - but honest and earnest curiosity is there.

Why not run the new content? I honestly don't understand. Please tell me why?

So is that why you ran so many Sub loot runs with us on Suday?

All I've been runnin' practically is the new stuff. Have seen a good number of folks in the new zone too. The new stuff is really tough, but it should be for the level it is. Maybe that has alot of folks turned off towards it?

Many of us have been running new content. Ever since level 10, I had been waiting for a new short and sweet loot run (similar to the old giant caves). The Garamol run is it! I will probably tire of this shortly and run it when I am bored or have a little time to spare. But it is new content to me. The loot is of course a major draw.

I also do not know all the pre-reqs for the new content, don't know how long to grind or what exactly to run, and don't want to bother asking when I see an LFM up.

That said, I'm sure plenty of others will flock your way that are ransacked in the Sub.

A lot of the groups I've seen for new content are "know the way" or "know the quest" or "have the right stuff" or even "private"...along those lines.

How are people supposed to learn the new content if no one is willing to teach them? I don't have high lvl toons on Risia so I couldn't grind the new quests for two weeks before they went live. Quite frankly I'm disappointed that some people on our laid-back server are showing their "elitism", so to say...

On a serious note alot of people are running the new content, they are just running it with people they trust. Personally I'd rather solo the new content (or solo until I die in most cases) to look around, take my time, taste the schnozberries, etc. than run with a group especially a PUG. If I am going to group it would only be with people I trust until I get an overall feel for the quest.

Think about when you were PUGging your way up to level 16, you really want to take those people to guard your back in unknown territory? You so craaaazy.

Yeah, actually, this goes for the lfm's up that I've seen too. "Know the way" and "Know what's up" isnt exactly helpful to those of us that have never run the new content. And really, people are less willing to join a group when they find out that it's made of all the "elite group rejects" that don't know where they are going.

And honestly, I was in the mood for a shroud this weekend too. After getting beat up and thrown about in the new quests and lowbies, I really just wanted to feel like i beat the snot out of something and feel like I've accomplished something. Thus, the Shroud.

Just wanted a quick comment on this as well. Before I say anything however take the source into account: I don't really know my way around any quest perfectly any higher than Threnal. I just don't take the time unless I'm soloing because I'd hate to impede on anyone else's fun to enhance my own. After Threnal it gets pretty hard to solo (Please don't respond telling me how uber you can solo...point is that resources used /= gain for soloing much after Threnal), hence my lack of knowledge.

That being said I don't hesitate to join these groups. "Know your way around" really means stick close to my ass because I don't want to have to play where's waldo with yoru dot. "Know what's up" means Tab targets the next creature, swords swing, don't cast grease. You don't have to be perfect. If you are a tank swing when the other tanks swing, if your a caster keep the group hasted and resisted if your a cleric heal. There you know your stuff. There isn't a cheat code that the group expects you to know, just don't poke yourself in the eye with you mouse. Bringing the "Right equipment" is a little tough, but 9/10 you can send a tell and the party leader will say sure join on in.

These "Elite groups" are protecting themselves against a player that is very seldom seen after level 4. Sending a tell in a competent manner and using very basic etiquette is usually all a group expects from you.

Shroud made most if not all players rusty...

That's what happens to your twitch skills when your DDO experience becomes turning on autoattack and going AFK.

I know one guy, at least, (he used to be in ur old guild actually) who isn't running the new content until the cap is raised cuz he doesn't want to "waste the xp". I tried explaining that when the cap goes up they'll be plenty of content with which to get xp and even suggessted he look at his quest log to see how much low-level xp he "wasted". Anyway, I wonder ig there are others who feel that they would be wasting xp by doing new content while capped?

For me, I wasn't able to log in until Fri (new stuff wouldn't download properly) and didn't play much this wkend but when I did, I focused on getting the gems from explorer areas and then looting the subterrane befor the rumored nerf (to no avail which is no surprise if you know me you know my loot tables are cursed).

While it'd be nice if it really worked like that, I have to disagree. "know the way" usually means "we're halfway thru the quest already and we don't want to hold your hand thru the explorer area and half the quest cuz we don't wanna babysit a noob." "know what's up" means they get annoyed if you dare ask what buffs you should throw or what spells work best against a certain enemy. "bring the right equipment" usually means WoPs. I sent a polite tell to such a group once and they wouldn't let me join because I didn't have a WoP. So yeah...

I don't appreciate being treated like a noob when I'm working on my third capped toon, and when I go out of my way to play different classes to increase my knowledge...

Sorry to single you out, but this type of comment infuriates me. WHY? Because nobody needs to be taught to run the new quest, go in knowing nothing and learn it yourself. I did not run on Risia either. I went into the new quests knowing nothing. The first time we ran kobold, it was quit dificult, but we kept at it, adjust our method and came up with a way to make it easy on elite. If you always have someone teach you, you are never really learning how to think for yourself.

I think I have a good method for it and am posivite a group of puggers could go in and defeat it. The real point is that nobody seems to want to try.

Also Thri, you are in a great guild with lots of exceptional players. It may be easy to run the new content with 5 other very good players all with decks out equipment. The real question is whether it is hard running with your average pugger that doesn't know what you mean when you ask if they have a WOP, let alone having any teir three shroud items.

I did not ask for any particlular build in my LFM, I did not ask for you to know anything, but sill nobody tried to join.

BTW every quest I defeated the first time on Elite so far was done in 100% PUG. The problem is it is tough to get the groups together because so few are trying.

And some of us have that soloing capability. Some don't. What i don't appreciate is the attitude that you need to know the quest to join, you need to have grinded it on Risia if you want to group with people, and if you ask questions or can't find your way to the group in a quest you don't know, you feel like you're "inconveniencing" them or slowing them down. Maybe I've just had a string of bad groups.

I don't know how to build uber toons that I can solo everything with. And I *enjoy* partying with other people and learning together, not feeling like a burden. I don't expect someone to hold my hand through everything, I just don't appreciate being make to feel like a fool.

I don't want to pick a fight with you, because I know Cerialkiller thinks highly of you.

Sorry to single out this one comment - but I am frequently annoyed by players on this issue.

1) I have never "required" WoP's. WoP is a rare weapon, and GOOD WoP's with a decent crit ranger are even rarer yet.

2) Conversely, I get extremely infuriated when a melee has NO CON DAMAGE WEAPON AT ALL. I have been using wounders on my melees since the level cap was 10. They have always been effective, and are even more effective when used in groups (i.e. everyone in group is using con damage). Wounders are not rare and they are effective. If you are trying to vorpal while everyone else is doing con damage - you are a waste of the healer's mana.

Sirea, as stated, this comment is not meant to inflame you in anyway, but hopefully can be a wake up call for the melees out there that think just because they aren't "uber enough" (often said in a snide/mocking way) to dual-wield WoP rapiers - that they have an excuse to run around complaining about how overpowered and unbalanced the game is when they don't even have a wounding weapon easily available at level 8.

Teamwork = working together. For melees, this usually means using similar types of weapons. Con damage has rocked in this game for a long time - you don't need a WoP rapier for it to continue to do so.

Like I said in my last post, I did not put any criteria in any LFM I made. If I made someone feel unwelcome by making them feel like they were inconveinencing me, I apologize, I did not mean to.

I would rather learn new quests with others that knew nothing than run in there with 5 others that have beaten it 6 times already. Cerialkiller was in my group when we ran the white dragon on hard. And we failed numerous times, but each time we got better and better and came up with a method that I think any casual player could use to defeat it. I admit, I have all the gear in the world, but I would not say tha about the rest of the party.

I think you and I are on the same page, unless you have other information about me I am unaware of. :)

Believe me, I'm far from complaining about the game being unbalanced, for the most part I'm happy with the game and while I might not be happy with some of the raid changes I'm willing to learn new strategies and get input rather than sit here and flame Turbine. I understand that some people have all these uber pretty weapons because they play a lot more than I do and have either grinded enough quests to be lucky enough to pull one or have the plat to afford one. Although now that I know that just a Wounder isn't completely useless I'll have to shop around for one for my pally, or start being more careful about what I sell to the vendor, so thanks for that tip ;)

I personally didn't see your LFM yesterday so it wasn't directed at you personally, and if I'd been on the game I'm sure Cerial would have dragged me along for the ride ;)

Like I said, I don't expect hand-holding, I just want to be given a chance, I might have some tricks up my sleeve ;)

Tons of new content being ran all weekend- was almost impossible to get a shroud in. Don't know when you're playing, but I saw constant gem, rune, essence runs all weekend on Ghallanda with almost no VOD or Shroud.

... and some of us still want to craft loot for which we can predict the result the first time -lol.

"In yet, when new content comes out, you STILL run the Shroud over and over." How do you know that the same people who are complaining about Shroud being boring are the ones still running it over and again?

Just have fun doing the runs/quests that you like- no need to goad other players or make assumptions about others who are simply doing what they enjoy. There are tons of people just learning the new content- that may be the most significant reason why you cannot find companions for White Dragon on elite...

I was trying to make the content last longer by not running it. That or I was trying to key 4 characters and also noticed the lack of new content PUG'ing. I did see a lot of guild groups running stuff while I waited though.... even got into a few of them.

Also got hit by a few of the bugs... like the walls that never fall in Prey for The Walls to Fall and the kobold endboss who jumped into the side of the mountain and had to be acid fog'ed to death - though he could still cast at us... evil sploiting kobolds!

I do find the new outdoor areas easily soloable with the wizard and annoying with the melee.

Would you please post something I don't agree with please, because it's starting to freak me out a LOT.

(I read the post, then say EXACTLY! and then look at who wrote it, and it's almost always you.)

I had fun pugging the new stuff. It was costly sure, but there is no greater fun than a group sticking together and wondering what will happen next.

It seems to me that there were few lfms because most were runnging guild groups, and lots of shroud and subterrane groups because,,, well some guilds have enough for a good start on a raid group but not enough for two 6 man groups. That and the sub loot is awesome and easily obtained.

I think I am ready to unlock Sorjek, but not sure... my dragon essence took alot of damage, may have to run it again,

wait there are people out there without wops? Its true though I tend to opt to solo and short man things before I take puggers along, especially with newer content. I'm fairly confident that I could take your average group of people in any of the new content on elite and beat it so long as they are willing to listen and follow directions.

Samadhi, I just recently pulled my first wounder, and sadly they are just SO freakin' expensive on the AH. I think it's more important to keep enough heal pots to go from just res'd to full health three times, and enough scrolls to try and make up a really bad party to a cleric. This keeps me relativly broke all the time.

I think there are other things to do.... A general DPS weapon can be useful as well. I'm just sayin', people shouldn't have to feel like they have to spend a fortune on the auction house.

I have been reading all the new Mod 8 threads with great interest since I have yet to be able to try it. Sadly Mod 8 was just more than my old computer could take and downloading the Mod killed her. New computer ordered and in the mail... until then I will enjoy the new content through the forums.

Anyway, just wanted to comment that I noticed the same phenomenon several Mods ago. Just days before Mod 8 went live I was still seeing postings in the forums where people stated they had yet to run VoD, or would not try it until the lvl cap was raised. Way into Mod 7 there were still plenty of "Reaver 3 of 12" LFMs. I completely understand leveling new characters through raids like the Reaver, but still cycling lvl 16 characters through every three days after two years?

For whatever reasons, there seem to be plenty of players that enjoy running old, comfortable content vice venturing into unknown quests and raids. On the positive side the changes to old quests, like the Reaver, may help some of these folks to move on. On the negative side, a fun lvl 14 appropriate raid had to be re-written so it was relevant to lvl 16 characters that should have been filling Shroud, VoD, and Hound raids.

First though, you made a lot of valid point Oogly and am sorry to hear your disappointment of lack of lfm for new content. I can't speak for everyone but for me, I wasn't impressed with new mod 8 at all. In fact, I was quite disappointed with it. The tactic of time-sink the dev keep using is getting boring. Making us run ALL over the place just to get 6 gems and then another 3 essense to be flagged? For a quest at that and NOT a raid. I don't like being told to jump through hoops. To me it's like being told "if you wash my car, go fill up with gas, go to the liquor store to get a keg, stop by and pick up some food, THEN you can come to my party". Wow, thanks for the invite. I can pick up the keg and stop by for food to come to your party but if I have to do all of that, well I can just throw my own party then. Getting the 3 essence is bad enough but to make us all run all over GH, orchard and the sand for gems...geesh why not add finding a needle in a haystack to the mix? Not my idea of fun or creativity. I can understand why some would not rush to run all over the place searching for gems to be flagged. And say you need gems (all of them) and put an lfm up: "gem hunting in all area starting with GH". You may get people to join then someone in party got his/her gem. What you think will happen next? I got my gem in this area thanks for the grp and drop. 5 more gems to go, I don't have time to stick around. We've all complained about this before: The party helped you get your stuff and as soon as you got it, you don't want to stick around to help everyone else in the party. Fortunately, my guildies are great. We all helped each other getting the gems needed. Some didn't even need the gem but went ahead to another instance (say GH) and cleared all of the names and found 5 chests. Didn't even open one of the chest and just sat there waiting for me to finish up with my current instance (say the sand) and then send me an invite so we can go loot the 5 chests in GH. Some guildies helped out a lot doing it like this many, many time over of "rinse and repeat". On top of that, some are flagged but can't go on the new quest because they feel guilty for the remaining guildies who have yet to be flagged and don't want to leave them behind. And then there were some, who did help flag but after a few times of "rinse and repeat" and cannot wait any longer to try out the new quest, went ahead with those already flagged. And then there were those who just recently logged on and not aware of those who have been through a few cycles of "rinse and repeat" and felt leftout of the new quest and blamed them for going ahead with the new quest. This is why I am not a fan of "being told to jump through hoops". It's even worse for those who are not as fortunate as I am to be in great guild so I can understand for the lack of lfm for the new content. The time-sink tactic the dev keep subjecting us to is getting old and excessive. Again, getting the 3 essense and maybe the 3 gems from the new area is bad enough. But to add 3 more gems collecting from GH, sand and orchard, it sure made me loose interest in the new quests. For mod 9, how about topping the time-sink tactic and make us get 6 gems, 3 essence AND 20 of each relics in GH in order to be flagged. Like I said earlier, it is as much fun as finding a needle in a haystack. I'm willing to do some of it to be flagged but it's getting too much.

Here's a thought for you and everyone else on the server. For the 4th new quest, there is no timer after you complete it but you do have to get flagged again. Say a couple of weeks down the road after all this novelty wears off, how many of us will be willing to keep doing that 4th quest then? Queen raid is dead because people hate doing the flagging for it. Getting the blood bowl and wiz king is ok but chains of flame is too long of a run just to get to the entrance and the quest itself is too long to flag. Do you think many of us will continue to flag to do this new 4th quest? All 3 of the essence collecting quests are long with lots of running by everything to reach the end boss fight for completion (like chain of flames). What's worse, this 4th quest we have to keep flagging is not even a raid. After the novelty wears off, I see mod 8 to be as dead as the queen raid.

I share your disappointment, Oogly. There are some great new content, great graphics addition, new quests are interesting and different but the dev keeps spoiling it for me with all this flagging, jumping through hoops for the sake of time-sink effect. No, it just means that you can take a group into the adventure area without everyone having gotten all six gems. Everyone still needs to turn in all 3 essences to get into the actual quest.

Sorry, Oogly. I'm getting in late on the reply but here are my two coppers.

With such a small amount of new high-level content for Mod 8 I am simply not surprised nobody is running it. There simply isn't much of a draw. This Mod was all about the NPE with these new quests and the limited amount of new crafting added in as sort of a rubber bone for the high-level gamers it would seem.

Speaking of crafting, I'd be happy to avoid the Shroud for a whole year but the grind of crafting pretty much forces me to be in there.

As for the uberness of Ghallanda and the excitement of taking out the new material first you need only look at Ravensgard to see that some of us are doing it.

Be patient my friend. Heck, I still have 6 other characters to flag for the new quest so it might be a bit before I even step foot in there. :p

I'm not in RG and I've many a raid with them. If you are mostly prepared, have better than average ability to LISTEN and use your head, running with them isn't hard. I can even say after getting into an embarrassing argument/debate over politics with a RG member the FIRST time i ran with them, I STILL run things with them if I'm on.

Confidence and arrogance seem the same to those misinformed.

Katet, RG, Souls, TIP, THACO, etc. Every guild has an idiot, with a mouth. Judging a guild by the loudest or the minority, is asking to be judged by one misinformed post on the forums, which as we all know isn't cool or fair.

I'm tired of people lumping EVRYONE, or EVERYTHING, or using all inclusive words to make a point best made by being truthful and accurate.

I'm far from uber, but I run with uber and non-uber alike. You want to run with good/great players? Ask them what would make you better. Ask them how you can fit into the team that kicks ass. When I started playing my cleric, I asked every group, how was i doing, what to do better, etc. My tank rat? poor build, i make it work, i listen to others, I try new ideas. Little ole me ran the first known elite hound by using everything I knew and listening to those failed runs, and sucessful runs on norm.

I'm really not trying to berate you here. I'm trying to help you understand. Being uber or good is really about adaptation and awareness and observation. The gear helps, but I know lots of crappy players with uber gear. Thats why in raids you tend to pick the player over the build first, well I do anyhow. Create a team.

RG is a team. Find your team and elevate your game, like they did....or do.

Oogly, I would have taken you up in a second. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to play much recently because of RL obligations. Also, more guildies coming back for MOD 8 (yay!) had me playing in guild when I was able to get on.

Count me as one who wants to do the new stuff. Also, as one very impressed with the new stuff I've seen (with the exception of the white dragon timer).

I have run with them many times too. I was in a guild with half of Ravensguard. I ran with them for 3.5 hours one night and FAILED over and over again on the Abbot. I ran with them and FAILED on the Shroud on Elite. My point is that there are plenty of other groups of people out there that run quests on elite all the time, but don't feel the need to come to these forums and brag themselves up all the time. Those same people also don't feel the need to put down other people whom they feel are inferior or tell other people their builds are ****. Ravensguard is full of people who are arrogant, not confident. I know the difference Chair. They act like they have never failed a quest and we all know that is not true.

And although I agree with you, it has nothing to do with my point. My point was that RG is full of people that think way too highly of themselves and treat other people poorly for no reason. I have seen it on many occasions. I could list names or examples, but I won't do it. Yes, running with Ravensguard is easy, just be prepared to hear some world class whining if the quest is failed.

I have seen examples of this same behavior with you Chair. I have run with you many times. In fact I ran the Shroud on hard with you and your cleric and we failed. You berated several other people during that run when in reality you held just as much blame if not more than the people you were berating. So get off your high horse and stop trying to help me understand simple definitions.

Great question

Roughly about 3-16 pounds (1.4-7.5 kg.) depending on the breed. With over 50 breeds of rabbit, there are rabbits as small as a guinea pig and as big as a small spaniel and everywhere in-between.

Rabbits must be kept in a relatively large cage. Most rabbits are kept in outdoor rabbit hutches, however keeping in indoor rabbit is becoming more and more popular. Rabbits can be kept outdoors if they have adequate shelter. They need to be shielded from rain, wind, sun, and drafts. If a rabbit is protected from the elements, they can withstand very cold weather. Some choose to use a wire cage with an enclosed box inside the cage. A 7 pound rabbit should be housed in at least a 2 foot by 2 foot house. Larger rabbits will need larger houses. Some outdoor rabbit houses have self cleaning wire bottoms which allow the urine and **** to drop through the bottom. Outdoor rabbit hutches have an indoor area where the rabbit can get out of the elements and an outdoor area where they can go and lay in the sun. Which ever you choose, it is important that your set up is well ventilated.

A pet rabbit should be fed good quality pellets, fresh alfalfa, timothy or oat hay, water and fresh vegetables. Rabbits will enjoy freshly picked grasses, clover, herbs (be sure what you pick outside for your rabbit is pesticide free!) Water should be fed in a gravity driven bottle that hangs on the side of the hutch or cage. If a rabbit is kept outdoors in the winter, you should have several of these water bottles rotating them with a fresh bottle several times a day as the bottles freeze. Pellets should be fresh (no more than 6 weeks old). As the rabbit gets older less pellets should be fed and fresh hay should be available 24 hours a day. Hay is important to a rabbit's good health, it provides roughage which reduces the danger of hairballs and other blockages. Apple tree twigs also provide good roughage for a rabbit. Yeah it took an hour for me to fill up a prey on the hunter LFM. Seems like most people don't want to do the quest or any of the new stuff. Its unfortunate. I may have to grind out the dragon runes to upgrade the DT armor that I will eventually get.

I started running the new content on the first day it came out. I actually love it. Even though the theme for Mod 8 was "New Player Experience" I think Turbine did a HELL of a job throwing us long time playas some bones. Mod 9 and 10 will be squarely for everyone.

This talk of "elite's" not opening the quest up to all... is bad for the game in my opinion. I will not guild bash though... The Ravenguards of the world will try to do things 1st. And I feel these self-described raid guilds provide a great service to the server and the game. However, more of us guys and gals that have been around since Beta, or even Headstart need to be MORE open and EDUCATE the masses. What is the point of not doing so? To get a quick victory? Again? EVERY NIGHT? Again? Same people. Again? Same people. Again? Same people. And then cry about the grind!?!?!?

With the server population on a temporary rise, we need to realize that WE LONG TIME PLAYERS can play a very important role inside Eberon. WE cant complain that the server population is too low, AND THEN put up "No help wanted signs" in our lfm's. It cant go both ways.

As an officer in the White Council, I can honestly say that our runs are ALWAYS open. If you are serious about the quest, WANT to learn the quest, but never ran it or only did it once? No problem. There are plenty of Council members that would be happy to show you around!

There is a place for the "elites", there is a place for the LARGE majority in this game in ANY quest in this game. Lets mingle a little more folks....

I gotta say, I haven't run any of the new stuff yet:(. This mod hit at the wrong time for me with RL stuff, but I'll run anything new on any setting with you. Now, if I could just figure out how to find time to log on.

See the best elitists that are out there have failed and did start as nothing more then a noob, not that they would admit it. But as I have noticed from being one of the best puggers out there (self named) it is hard to pug into a party that will not listen to logic. Now I will be the first to get aggravated with a full party of noobs in a quest, might be one of the last to die as well, I am always one of the first back in cleaning it all up when needed, but I can't teach them anything cuz they refuse to listen to the person that talks without the star. Sadder even still is seeing the same names doing the same quest (normally harder) without trying to learn it more and just wanting to get the right people. Thus the 'you need this runs' to me are them trying to get someone to gather their stones and do the quest for them.

Now for some fun facts:
Yes I have done all the new content 3 times on my cleric, finished first try (nice tankage to all those that were there, 5 noobs to the quest btw, but the ezest run of them all), Failed the second (a ton of tanks.... no dps.. proved dps is a dead art, no noobs to quest), Finished third (300 scrolls, 6 pots, and a good luck hit). Now I have all the enhancements I want on my armor but will be doing again. Why? cuz form the clerics I got while getting the essences for my sorc it enforced the fact that some never learn.

In doing the 3 quest, to get my sorc flagged, the parties we had went and used up 5 different clerics. Only one of them was one I knew, and only two that I would label as good. We had ones that 'knew the way out there' that went and died cuz they say a shinny chest off in neverland, then ask for help, cause a wipe, then drop cuz WE caused his/her armor to need to be repaired. The others just lacked the attention to look at life bars... 4 were lvl 16 clerics, and one lvl 14 cleric (the better of 5) btw.

Now note that I love to pug and will never stop for a guild run unless it was announced prior, but to fail cuz of one or two people that are for lack of better words unskilled and ignorant gets very aggravating and develops the screw the noobs parties or the players that go and start stuff with everyone (benesato... want me to name more?), and encourages people to play with guildies only.

So in thus my Disappointment is not the lack of people trying to do a quest to say but rather the lack of people wanting to learn a quest they wish to do, or the lack of 'first time doing', 'learning session', or 'guide needed' lfms. That and the lack of people joining those parties when they are up. By disscouraging people that wish to learn and are willing you destroy the potential that person has to be better then what they were. Thus making the same wank we always have and the same names being excepted by the elitists.

Ya a repair bill hurts people at times, scroll money is almost always misplaced, and lost major pots, but that is the life of a pugger. gp is gp, a gamer is a gamer, a friend is a friend, and respect is respect. You just have to ask what is more important to you at times? decency or finishing? Old friends or new ones? Honor or pride?

Now disappointment in people is long lasting, grudges never lift, ignorance is bliss, and there is always something to loot run. My disappointment is in lack of skills from people as of resent, a lasting grudge against some guilds (not all the people in them), and the simple fact that is how it will be. Pity the gamer who plays to have fun sometimes, and honor those that do nothing but is kinda a bad outlook to me.

FYI, I completed the my last quest on elite yesterday around 5EST. (Maxed favor again) I got home early due to a sick kid and was able to log on when he went to sleep. We got it done quickly and efficiently. I also got a group to run kobold elite again. Less efficient, but we had 6 "experts" and no one leader.

As for the many people complaining that all the LFMs are "know quest only" LFMs, I call BS. I had LFMs up for over two hours of time on saturday for the new content and could not fill my group. No pre-requs required. If someone else has an LFM up that doesn't allow you to play in that group, it never stops you from putting up your own LFM. Sounds to me like we have a lot of excuses for not want to do hard content, which is only hard until you know what to do. Are most waiting for the "power gamers" to figure things out and then steal methods?

Even last night there were more shroud/hound runs than new quest runs and they also seemed to fill up faster. It looks as though everyone wants there quick easy loot without the fun/adventure/challenge. If they have to think or adapt they Bitc4.

So what the Reaver is harder, good. Adapt. So what he shroud is harder, good. Stop looking for easy loot runs and look for a good adventure. Was the Reaver actually a good quest? Nobody could honestly think that quest should be left as the AFK loot run.

Are DDO players lazy?

Now now Ooogly that run went just fine. A little slower than it needed to be but it was done in a good manner and wasn't that big of a problem to knock out.
I have ran that Elite a few times now with various toons and have found that if you have a dam good evasion party member with the right weapons for the end that it is a brezze (Godmode, Lizza,Jak) to name a few.
Not having a party leader worked well seeing how everyone in the party usally leads runs anyway.
A run without a know it all or ego trip was nice.:) Now someone pleas bring the servers up:)))

We went into the WD last night but did not get to the fight in time.. the maze caught us off guard and when we got to the dragon, well the giants were kicking his butt. One tail whip and everyone but me was on the ground. Hey it happens.. Had a kick as* time doing it though...

Would love to see how you run it.. Get some pointers..

PS.. the comments I seem to hear most often including my own are.. Wow, new content, but we have some much other stuff to do yet. Gotta get my ring of thelis ( holding me up here on my new 16 lowbie ;) I really want my ring of lies too. I need to do more shrouds so I can get the ingredients I need to craft my items. When it comes down to it.. ( now I want my DT Shroud ) but I still need my other items as well.. and they require older content to get them.

As much as I love running the new stuff ( and it is awesome, even a great job done over in korthos ( love the flying dragon ) graphically ) I think most people ( well some ) don't quite think they are up to the challenge of a level 17 quest with cr 20+s with the equipment they have.. Doing the lower stuff to build better items will get them through it that much faster and easier.. Hope that makes some sense.. Just kinda typing and rambling..

Maybe if you have time later around 6:30pm EST ( 11/4/08 ) you might hook up with immuni and the guild and do some new content..

Check the House D Vendor there are more Wounding/Enfeebling weapons in there that disappear on a daily basis than you'll find cruising around on the marketplace forum. I've seen wounding/enfeebling scimitars/khopeshes/etc in there plenty of times.

Plus you can get a regular +5 wounder to still keep some bonus of DR penetration and have the con damage still there. You don't need puncturing on the weapon to have it be a useful stat dmg weapon. If you're wounding/enfeebling and another is weakening/puncturing, you're hitting the mob with the best of both worlds. Also, wounding/enfeebling has the added bonus of making it easier to trip mobs so they wont heal themselves......

edit: Also, I'm on the same train as Oogly. There are no LFMs up really...I barely saw any over the weekend as well as barely any last night when I was on (granted I went to sleep early cause jury duty is boring as heck! :D ).

Plus, Garamol is no excuse not to run new content. The Monastery of the Scorpion on norm/hard is 10x better of a loot run than garamol....

Oogly. you are mostly right in what you were saying about the LFMs. I am not to a level yet to worry about the new stuff (level 13 cleric/fighter).
Would join your quests anytime as it is just fun to be in a group and not repeating the same stuff you can do solo all the time.
As far as learning new adventures it would be great to tag along and learn but most just want to run as fast as possible. Looked at one adventure the other night and had run 6 times previously but could not recall most of the quest as was never near enough to the front to see what was going on.
Most guys dont want to run with groups that are all noobs and we do get left in a position of just tagging along and trying to pick up what we can.
By the way can someone please advise what is "WOP?
Also with the server being offline again I have had no substantial runs since last week. That is not from a lack of trying though

Today was my first real chance to play since new content came out. I figured I'd spend the day running it all for like 6-8 hours straight.....Then... ****ing server crash happens. It'll be another month before I really get a chance

Still it was a fun run with the group we had. We need to get another one up like that for farming :)

OK this is for everyone that followed saying say ignorant remarks.
over the WHOLE f'n weekend I saw 8 private (guilded) and none of the new stuff had any prereqs unless it was SoS.. So BS Stop your whining and excuses, because your scared. Just say what you were feeling instead of making lame excuses. I recently came back to game (3 months ago) after taking a short break. And, I pug everywhere. RAIDS INCLUDED!! I may not have beat the Abbot (something I wanna pug for not Guild) but I join any LFM I see for it every chance I get. The only way to get better is through experience!!! No matter how many times some one tells you to shield block a little door for the mage you won't understand until you do it and watch as the caster nukes and makes the quest 5 times easier. If you see wop on there and have only a +2 seeker +4 rapier of puncturing (on your dex build) that's probably better than if you had a wop. You don't need perfect items just a good Idea, and some common since. there's a ton more I could comment on from all the people complaining but there's no point because you will not get what I am refering to because you haven't stood in that little door way and shield blocked yet.

As far as the Risia comment it, The high end content wasn't even on the server so we all went in blind. No one had any experience except the DEV's.

*** is that stereotyping not only the good players but the whole server come on.

I have always believed that Ghalanda was the best server.. Reasons are simple: we have the best population with a wide variety of player types. Is that stereotyping too? Maybe but its not claiming for some specific reason so I don't think so.

What is this guy stupid you don't have completions for a quest after you hit lvl cap. It stays at the static number you hit at lvl cap. Go ahead unless they just changed the rules for it (as in today) you don't repeat quest at lvl cap you just get favor. Tell your friend to stop BSing you and start playing. Every time you run any of they high content on a lvl cap its the first time every time.

The solo elitist attitude irritates me to no end, and as is my choice, I don't have to run with them. The quests are built for teams, not groups of individuals all comparing sizes.

What are you that insecure that you need to belittle others to feel or look important?
For the record most of us work or have employees that work for us. We just choose to get things done in life as we do in game. Were effective and prompt in many quest because we work as a team and we can deal with adversity. Sorry your not one of use but with a attitude like yours you wouldn't be welcomed in many of the better guilds on this server. Perhaps you just need a hug huh?

For the record not everyone in a guild represents their guild the way they should. Not all of us are stuck on ourselfs or our accomplishments. Not all of us need reconition so please dont group a guilds players all together when only a couple could be the ones you have a problem with.All in all this is a great guild of players that only want to share what they know or have done in this game. It isn't always because they want your praise they are just proud of getting done whatever they got done .
Hell almost every guild out there has a few guys that think they are the ******* while others should adore them.:)

On LFM's I moreso get annoyed with the partially filled groups - esp raid ones... that sort of keep you on the line for a few mins with multiple open slots and then fill and you ask what's up... since you met their class request and there's no note about "waiting for X/private" and they say:

-Sorry had some guildies switching over
-Sorry we need a sorc over wiz for this - it's on elite
-Noone in the party has grouped with you so we're not sure if you're good enough and took one of the guildies that just logged on

or my favorite from just last week
-We needed a barbo because they kill faster than your fighter...
was even sadder that it was a barbo L13... and it wasn't the shroud... the only quest where I might give this some ounce of "you're right".

If you want to look through the sphincter finder - put it in your LFM notes. Or form your PUG's in the PvP pits.

Yes, I do. A pretty full one actually that involves a wife and child that I spend considerable time with. When I game, I choose to play with some of the most talented players on Ghallanda that I know of. And this is gonna shock you......most of them have families and lives and substantial time away from the game. It's just that when we do log in - we play hard and well.

That is just it, you dont need to wait for those type of LFMs to go away. they have nothing to do with you. you can start a group, you can form a party. Honestly though, I haven't seen a single LFM for the new stuff since Friday. I wasn't on the first couple of days of the new mod due to being sick, but I know some of my guildies had been running it. I logged on Friday hoping to get into some of the new stuff, but no LFM's for it. So start your own group you say. Those who know me know I am uncomfortable leading groups on high level stuff since I cannot use voice. I gave up after an hour.

So I created a new toon and checked out newbie island and checked the LFM in between every quest and no one from guild logged on. Same for Saturday and Sunday nights. Hell, I couldn't even get groups for newbie island and ended up soloing the whole thing up to elite except for Miserys' peak.

I don't think it is a lack of motivation of the type your talking about Ooog. I think alot of people are lack the mmotivation to play period. Alot of my guildies aren't logging on and I see few people I know on. Population is just down or they are all doing lowbie stuff. That is what I am seeing.

I have always believed that Ghalanda was the best server.. Reasons are simple: we have the best population with a wide variety of player types. Is that stereotyping too? Maybe but its not claiming for some specific reason so I don't think so.

Notice I said *some* players. There's a difference between players that are willing to help others out and give friendly advice - something I definitely try to do when I know there's a new person in the party, especially since I've been playing more lowbies lately and I know most quests up to Gianthold level much better than, for example, Vale or Orchard stuff (although 5-min Vol runs are always fun ;) ) - and players that make you feel like a burden to the party when you ask questions. I had a string of these types of parties a while back, but as I get more confident in high-level content these things bother me less. But don't get me wrong, there are a lot of great players on Ghallanda and I feel like I've made several in-game friends over the last 6 months. 98% of the time I'm in groups that are fun and laid-back but efficient, well-run groups. And if we wipe, no biggie.

So how could I hate u? :p I know you ask if you need something, why else would I tease you for being so needy? I agree it is a problem when someone makes it look like they know how to get somewhere and they really don't, I know that 9 times out of 10 someone would hang back to help them find the way. But it's probably the same mentality I'm talking about here, the "I don't want to bother anyone, and I *kinda* know the way, so I'll figure it out hopefully" mindset, that holds a lot of people back. Not saying it's a good excuse, but it is what it is.

What the eff, I'll probably end up putting up a "come get lost in new content with me and die a lot" LFM one of these days, LOL.

I do believe I've been misquoted here. Cornelius has taken one sentence of my post and put it completely out of context.

First off: I am NOT in Ravensguard. This .sig file usually gives that away, but again: I've been quoted out of context so whatever...

Second: I could really care less if people are doing this, that, or the other thing. I do my thing and join my online friends doing our thing. What Oogly originally posted was a question asking why people aren't doing more of the new quests from Mod 8. He's an online friend and a respected player in my books so I gave him my honest two-cents on the deal. Period.

So flame on if you must, but have the decency to at least quote me in context.

Well maxed out favor and ransacked on most the quests and areas on main character. Maybe people are just taking a break from the stuff or like myself hate starting up a PUG LFM :p
Being a cleric most the time, I usually wait for a LFM fills up before committing.

The original fear of the new content is slowly waining and more and more LFMs seem to be up for the new content.

We did still wait 25 minutes last nght to fill a Prey group, then we crushed the quest in no time at all. A couple vorpals and paralysers dropped as well. I wish they would fix the **** ice walls/floors so they drop more efficiently.

/signed - not sure if there is a trick that I'm just not aware of - but I've seen a couple of those just sit there to the point we finally restarted the quest :(

Almost restarted this due to that issue. Only reason we didn't is that we found a wolf in hide mode not moving. Once killed the wall broke open. Go figure.

Ooh, good point to keep in mind: hidden wolves. With the wacky dog aggro (running away) they can get lost.

DDO bugged? That never happens. :rolleyes:

BTW it's happened to me twice now. Bug report has been submitted and I actually remain hopeful that it will get fixed in the next update.

and working on getting them the quest gems.

Nylan just needs Monarchy gem. Grissa needs Prey and Kobold.
