This used to be the way with House P buffs. No one got Fire Resists at the door in TS. It takes 30 seconds to get there from the P buffer. You bought P buffs brought pots or simmered in the lava.

Yep, and this is exactly what I'd like to avoid. Don't get me wrong, I love having the option of house P buffs. But when it becomes a requirement it becomes a chore.
This is potentially much worse. At least your example is one where you HAD an option of someone casting it on you. With what Im understanding here, it's a stackable +30. If so, there's really no other way to get that in the game (yeah I know, a max shroud item + ranger boosts, but I mean a common way).
If they balance for this, then it's a requirement. If they don't, it will be somewhat overpowered becoming...well, a requirement. Either way, I can hear it already...."Please go back to the airship and get your buffs". Sigh....
And if I understand the mechanics right, it looks like you can open a portal to your airship and let non-guildies into it? If so, can they use the shrines? Oh man, if so, then it will be "Hey, we got a Pestilence guy in the pug, now we can all go get buffs before the quest". Not that Im not hospitable, but....hopefully Im misunderstanding how the mechanic works on that part. Maybe they can just get in but not use the goodies.
Imagine this in future LFM's:
"Tier N Guild Buffs or don't bother joining!"
LOVE the Concept of AirShpis, and the convenience features, especially a Guild Bank!, but HATE the idea that my small guild might be left out of quests/Raids as we wont be able to have the buffs those in large Guilds have!
Wanna add those super buffs, make them Favor based, NOT Guild based.

I concur, I'm not a fan of this either.
I don't know how other guilds are run/built up, but ours is a small guild with people that just fit each other well. I'm quite sure that the core of our guild won't jump ship (so to speak) to another larger guild because of amenities.
Guild renown..meh.
I concur. I don't like the way this system is implemented - It's really going to hurt smaller guilds, who can't get all the perks they might want, and frustrate larger ones, who will be inundated with requests from ship-jumpers looking for an easy ride. I went into more detail about the problems I foresee in another thread. I would like to see a lot of changes in all this before it goes live. You can't trust surveys - Just because a lot of players want something doesn't mean it's good for them, or for the game.
Borror0 and Angelus_dead are on the money:D:D:D. Toss the buffs. Guilds should be a place to congregate, (have a common area where you can invite friends) maybe get a discount on some items from a vendor, share items via shared bank with certain retrictions and make travel easier (cough , cough ......REFUGE/ Amrath ) I have not played Lamannia but think some of the new players who may make a small guild of friends (even real life friends) may be forced to hunt for a larger guild.
I am okay with guild decay above a certain point, but if done too early in the favor climb this may hurt smaller guilds especially those who may be casual players. I also don't care for looking in bags that drop on the ground. I think the renown should come from defeating rares in explorer areas, or rares in quests that are not always there and finally end bosses or possibly orange named monsters in quests. (a similar thought was mentioned early in this thread)...somethign like, hey did you hear that Billy Bob and his merry men from XXX guild beat the wraith who has been terrorizing the local village (Korthos)? This is what fame is.......or renown as you say. ;)
Add in a raid and this should give renown including the number of completions. Just a few thoughts I think are pertinent.
I hope the DEVS check this thread.
QFT.
my.DDO is already used to screen players.
This gives another means to exclude players/guilds unable to get to the higher tiers of guild rewards.
This is a game killer for me.
If my choice to be in a guild with a few of my real life friends means I am rejected for raids, I will have no option but to find somewhere else to spend my money/time.
House P buffs do not stack, the same effect can be easily obtained from multiple other sources, do not require a large guild to aquire and keep and are not visible on my character (or my.DDO page).
