Spot, Search, Disable Device, Open Lock - everything you need. Plus UMD, Haggle, and caster skills.

Only thing Rogue 2 adds is Evasion, a few more skill points, access to Social skills, and 1d6 sneak attack (and access to Tier 2 Rogue enhancements)
Edit - to be clear - the only thing any full "trapper" needs is 1 (starting) level of Rogue or Artificer, and then enough Skill Points to buy full ranks in Spot, Search, and Disable Device, and the gear to support it. No need for Rog 2 unless you want Evasion (and no need for that unless you can get/keep your Ref ST moderately high, thru Dex or Int+Insightful Reflexes.)
So, a Rogue 1/Ranger 18/X 1, or an Arti 1/Ranger 18/X 1, or a pure or splashed Arti - any of those are great trappers.
If you go Arti, that's an Int build, and the Harper tree helps DPS a LOT - but is not a deal breaker if you don't have it. An Arti w/ a vorpal repeater is a strong build by itself.

Hi Kent, I'm returning from a long 2 year break and I'm trying to complete my completionist, I need monk,FvS,Druid,Rogue, I have an idea for rogue, but I can't think of anything I can do with druid, can you help me out with a Scourge druid and a scourge monk hopefully both with ranger splashes so that i don't have to +1 out of ranger, I have +7 tomes on all tomes all stats, and full access to all content, including new enhancement tree. If you can't do both builds I think i would prefer if you made a druid for me, non caster.

Hey Kent. I'm about to TR a first life elf arcane archer and I'm pretty clueless on character builds. I have a couple of ideas but would really like to do some kind of Drow FVS with TWF. Solo ability isn't an issue. I just want to do as much DPS as possible and have some survivability while being able to help with healing and buffs. Thanks in advance. He's on a +7 Supreme Tome and has a ton of gear.
This build was for my wife a few lives back but she went human for RTR so she had one more feat had Natural fighting feat 3 times and 20 more heal amp from human tree but could not pass up ghost touch from Scourge. No real loss from one less Druid level for the ranger. She really liked this life enjoy!!

Notes: Bear rage & Barbarian rage uses and enh stack. not sure when but I know at lower levels the Barbarian rage last longer as it has a set time limit then as your Con gets higher the Bear rage last longer as it is based on a multiple of your Con in sec. You only need one of the rages on your hot bar as the uses stack. You can use any one handed weapon & a shield you are proficient with as they all turn to claws just look for the best porc effects blunt IC arguments your ctit profile with your claws regardless of weapon type. (my wife used "leopold's chill" in mid levels just for the freezing even though it is slashing)

Would you please make a build? It will be a first run toon. I am a returning player. I noticed many upgrades to Druid. I used to play a Druid who had a few druid lives I might need a build for that eventually. For now I would like to ask for a Druid or sorc caster build who can do traps. I have 2 +2 tomes and 1 +3. I am hoping you know more about the new changes to Druid than I do and can get me restarted with this game. I typically play solo and I have an Owlbear.
Well for what your going for a storm Sorc would do nicely and as skills points/lev is need to meet a minimum for traps so are any of those tomes for INT ? IMO sorc works better mixed on a first lifer then Druid

Greetings! Have asked elsewhere and received some advice, but wanting to get another opinion and possibly a build. About to do a Bladeforged Iconic life, and I want artificer to be main class, but with at least 1 level of paladin as I don't want to have to use a lesser heart to get rid of it. Any suggestions/builds for that?
I don't think this takes anything special.
The Arti + WF/BF combo is more than strong enough that you could just ignore the Pali 1, suck up the loss of Arti capstone, and go w/ any decent Arti build. Maybe embrace the splash and add Fighter 1 for another Feat, and call it good.
(Edit - The classic ranged Barb 1 splash is not (practically speaking) possible w/ BF/Pali)

Notes: at low levels I just get the Burning Hands SLA and Shocking Grasp SLA freely Maximized & empowered, spamming Sonic Blast in between works really well till you have enough AP to get Electric Loop SLA. Then drop the fire tree. when you get to lev 12 and get the Lightning Bolt SLA my att string looks something like this Lightning Bolt SLA, Electric Loop SLA, Sonic Blast, Sonic Blast, Electric Loop SLA, Lightning Bolt SLA,{might slip in a reg Electric Loop if I feel more dazing is needed} < this is my save SP rotation if things get harry you can throw in Lightning Bolt spell and at higher levels Ball Lightning & Chain Lightning but most of the time really not needed. if something gets close feel free to throw a Shocking Grasp SAL at it good dam for the 2 SP it cost. Remember to always Maximize & empower your SLAs by right clicking the hot bar Icon for each and selecting "always on" I usually don't use metas on the other spells other then Eladar's Electric Surge but it is only for bosses. With this setup it should look like a deadly game of red light green light with your Lightning Bolt and some other spells as green light and Electric Loop SLA, Sonic Blast as red light. If mobs don't take Electric Shout away
you lock pick skill well drop off quick but then soon you get knock and all is well :) should work on most locks

Edit: in builds like this that have a IPS like effect like lighting bolt that shoots through and hits all in its path you should go to key mapping and change your targeting from {Tab} next target to {Tab} prev target. It will still target the closest target when hit once but now when you hit it again instead of going to the next closest it will go to the farthest target allowing you to quickly line up many targets for lighting bolt to blow through :)
take a look at this should do nicely Dragonborn Lit Sorc for Clevercake. IMO to take enough Fav to really heal yourself you lose tooo much from your Sorc but this build does get UMD So about mid game you can carry a heal scroll in one hand all the time like I do on many casters. As far as spells look at the post just above this one in the notes at the bottom as it is a lit Sorc as well but he wanted to do traps as well and any mix classed caster (especially 1st lifers) has will have tough time getting DCs high enough for CC so your build will add to those spells Charms, holds, and dancing
