Incubus

I'd like to request a kind of distinctive build. It's based on the main character of a comic of mine, but I wanted to try to make him in DDO and have some fun.

He is an Incubus (which probably means he'll have to be either Elf or Drow to look right; his skin is slightly reddish and he has tapered ears) and a shopkeeper who goes on regular interdimensional adventures. Although in the comic he's proficient with a whip, I'd imagine something graceful like a rapier would be just as good. At heart, he is very refined and charming, and likely his alignment would be Chaotic Good (or perhaps Neutral Good). He generally tries to right wrongs and do what he feels is ultimately a good thing.

He can use magic, but he prefers not to use it extensively. However, I would imagine Incubi would have access to things like Charm Person (or perhaps, if he's a Bard, Fascination) and perhaps things like Suggestion, Dominate Person, Charm Monster, Symbol of Persuasion? Based on what I've been reading, I think Bard might be an ideal class for him, but I don't know as much about the game and the available gear I could get to make him the almost-perfect Incubus and to give him more opportunities to use the things that would be inherent to him.

I'm not looking to rule endgame, just to have some fun and to be an interesting addition to parties, as well as being generally able to do things on my own if necessary.

Solo: sad but a must.... mostly

Hello, I've been looking for a build that I can solo with. Due to work, family, and a million other things going on I'm usually not able to play for long stretches at a time. Some times it's 5 mins here, 10 mins there. Tends to upset party members when I have to keep going afk. Rarely am I able to go through a dungeon without having to run downstairs and help my wife with something, find out why one of my girls is crying, or answer my work phone. So, i was wondering if you might be able to come up with a build that I would be able to solo with. With rogue skills, so I can sneak into a corner and leave my keyboard for a few mins to take care of one of the above, disable traps, and pick locks if possible. Any race will work, except WF, can't seem to get into them for some reason. Hope you can help. Thanks

You should try a 15 Wiz/1 Rog stealth Ghoste build.. sounds like it might suit you well

Evening folks. I am here, to request a build, while generally I do most of my builds my self, and compare to other builds, this one is relativity uncharted territory. I have already rolled a spellsinger some time ago, and building that was second nature to my mental process and natural play style, that is, cast, support, and sneak in a swing.

Well, not to long ago, the named item "The Mad Lute" was spoiled.
As a bard only usable weapon, despite wanting one for my spell singer, I envisioned a 2HF bard, smashing Hobs over the head with a guitar.
Visions of The Who flowing through my mind.

Heres what I am trying to build for.
High Elf or Warforged - Elf preferred for this one
32 pt unlocked
Two Handed fighting // Potentially (most likely) Bludgeoning Specialized
As MUCH bard as possible. Either pure of with only a bare smidgen of splash.
Tomes - Little as possible

New player looking for a build that will take me to the Drow and 32pt unlocks quickest without twinking.

28pt build
Any class but Favored Soul (don't have it)
Any race but Drow (not unlocked yet)
No Tomes (n00b player that knows no one in game yet)
Solo friendly

Other than that I'm willing to play what you come up with.

I'm looking for a build. Divine caster but specializing in melee/ buffing but with enough UMD to cast displacement, shield, stoneskin firewall(until I get blade barrier) and possibly tensers. 32 point build or Drow is fine. I need to be functional in a group, but I will p robably solo or duo alot. I can get all +1 tomes starting at level 3. I was thinking rogue/paladin/FVS or maybe rogue/fighter/FVS.

I would also like to see something that has the capability of getting into 80s ac. I see people saying that it's possible but I can't see how.

Unbeknownst to me, Thanimal had posted The Killer Frog. It looks very solid---good saves, good armor, self-healing, and very respectable DPS—a solo'ing dream come true.

Major props to him. This looks like the first character I'll be running up to 16.

Wanted...pure ranger build, mainly ranged but melee capable

Human or elf, 32pt pure ranger build, want to range mostly but like to melee with twf as well when needed. Not terribly gear sensitive, have access to various +1 tomes, but do not have anything higher. Please help me find the optimal selection of starting stats along with feat selection.

If I rolled the drow, I was also thinking like you were about it already being Finesse.

The damage output would come from Crits from using Rapiers, since I can catch up with my To-Hit using the drow enhacements for Rapiers.

Now for the flipside, rolling a WF. The obvious advantage is self healing, since the Drow will not be able to get the UMD for heal scrolls w/o a lot of effort, even though skill points will not be an issue.

WF have several immunities that are beneficial if I plan on being in combat. WF would net me extra hp which is great.

I just dont know which would make a better fit for the build.

The biggest thing to consider is the pre's and spell slots i don't see the 9th lvl of fighter doing anything for you atall i'd go 12/8 for the wf and maybe the other way if you went drow.

Imp Crit slashing at 18 or swap it around with gtwf. I don't see Frenzied Berserker working with its feat requirements so I went twf. Maybe when Ravager or Slayer get released one of them would be more viable.

the 18 dex is overkill if you can afford a +2 dex tome i'd drop it to15 and pump up con

pure bard? or multiclass if he's really good at fighting maybe some fighter levels for feats to show his prowess in battle?

hows this? this gives you tempest and the option to throw on 2 pally levels and 2 rogue levels when the cap goes up for 12 rogue 6 ranger 2 pally.

well on this one i'd go human first option dwarf/wf second options reason being that humans get versatility and easier to heal wf get more damage and con for your enhancments dwarf if you wanted axes but you want blunt.

WF power attack will help that damage more than any other race and elves have lower con and make it hard to be a melee bard str and con are the 2 stats youreally want to pump you don't need a ton in cha but my human bard with a 24 endgame cha can hit 44 umd.

your easiest build to get to drow and 32pt is handsdown a cleric no trouble finding a group and you can make an lfm for whatever favor you want.

Being a new player and not having alot of cash halfling with dragonmarks will really help you so you don't have to spend alot of cash on wands.

to get dragonmarks you have to get a char to the harbor and talk to lockina near the mailbox and do the quest once complete you can create chars with dragonmarks from then on.

The only thing not in this build is solo friendly at low levels.

no fvs in the builder yet and i'm too strapped for time to tab back and forth can't umd firewall because there are drop only scrolls so you can't depend on them you won't need tensers because you can use divine power to get full bab.

This build uses repeaters most of the time and switches to bows for manyshot with the ability to melee when you want aswell took mental toughness so you can take arcane archer.

Yeah you are right, I don't actually have access to 32 point builds yet and cannot afford +2 tomes but I was thinking for a 28 point build I would go with

17 str
16 dex
13 con
8 int
9 wis
8 cha

That way I could just get +1 tomes or the +1 to all tome from the store when it goes live and be set for all my feat requirements at level 4.

Swapped the feats around a little to:

1 Twf
3 least dragon mark
6 Itwf
9 Lesser Dragon Mark
12 Imp Crit Slashing
15 Gtwf

Rolled her on Lamannia a few days ago and is fun so far. Thanks for the advice.

Multiclass might be good, or pure Bard is fine if you think that would work well. I'm honestly just looking for something fun and playable, to capture the spirit of the character. :) I know that the Bard class is probably going to be the best basis from which to work, since they tend to get the spells and abilities that would be inherent to him, but I'm totally open for advice, and I appreciate it very much! :)
