If my main goes from soloing reaper Sharn at level 20 (lvl 33 dungeons) down 13 levels to only being able to solo epic reaper Lords of Dust, then everyone else at 20 goes from being able to solo epic reaper Lords of Dust to heroic reaper Tear of Dhakaan. ;)

I think you bring good ideas and builds to the community and appreciate how you share your knowledge to help others enjoy the game more.

There are many bugs in the game - some favorable and some unfavorable. I have used favorable bugs to my advantage many times and don't think there is really anything wrong with it, but I avoid things that I consider exploits entirely.

I like to separate legitimate performance from bugs on the forums because I've seen too many knee-jerk nerfs and changes, e.g., several years ago someone posted a video of a warlock soloing tempest spine using bugged lgs which ironically had already been fixed - the video preceded the fix. There was almost universal outrage about it and agreement on the forums that warlock needed to be nerfed and it was shortly after. I can't say for sure that thread based on bad info was the reason, but it seemed to be as warlock actual dps was not out of range at that time and the timing sure seemed like it was a knee-jerk.

A second example - same thing. Someone posted videos of a monk tearing up content and it turns out he wasn't even using the gear listed on his posted build and instead was using bugged heroic gear that had a 100x multiplier on the bonuses and was resulting in ridiculous dps. Monk was nerfed shortly after and to this day remains underpowered over nerfs based on faulty data and lies of omission on the build.

It's my opinion that posted dps should not include favorable bugs unless specifically separated numerically so dps without the bug can be seen. I also think dps #s should not include debuffing, vulnerability, etc. and at least on Sarlona we we were asked to post dps without debuffing in a semi-serious raiding group. Alot of high dps characters go into a raid with only the debuffing (if any) that happens to be on their gear as everything else is covered by the group.

Serious raid groups have dedicated debuffers and/or coordinated debuffs to maximize the benefit.

I see alot of numbers thrown around the forum without detailed supporting calculations, but I always appreciate when players can show the math without bugs and exploits. I especially appreciate it for warlock if you are willing to show the math.

I just think alot of dps comparisons I've seen, e.g., sorc using the most optimal setup and situation to a sub-par paladin using a basic attack. Those comparisons are done to prove something rather than to present a fair and balanced analysis of game play. Anyone that plays paladin understands that there are better ways to clear mobs than using a basic attack. Same with doing warlock to warlock comparisons where the goal is to prove one build is better than the other by including debuffs in one build and excluding from the other.

I did state quite a while ago that warlock was suboptimal for a dps role in push raids because there were so many other builds that out-dps'd warlock. It was fine on lower settings though and there are some raids where warlock can have a very useful role that isn't dps. If I need to bring dps I'll bring my assassin. That doesn't mean I think warlock is bad and needs a massive buff and the devs have boosted single-target damage some recently. It's one of the best soloing classes in the game. That's my opinion, although when looking at high reaper raid achievements at the time I made those statements there were not warlocks in the dps role so it doesn't seem too far off the mark - the highest achieving groups didn't have warlock in dps role even once. I haven't looked at recent achievements so it's certainly possible things changed since I made those statements. I am not playing as much as I was at the time I made those statements so I don't claim to know the top dps builds for push raiding today.
