Hi Welcome
Some things you should add is that it was first used verbally and it is said as it is punctuated with a flat tone used for both words. It was used to greet people joining the group and repeated in the same way as each person joined more specifically in raids. The more people that said it in the same fashion the funnier it became for everyone else. CREDIT must go to Milamber69 for its creation and common use. Everyone should PM him a thank you for creating such a valuable phrase.
'Hi Welcome' is not and has never been a 'slam' and Arkat is right, it is a phrase that can only be used intuitively.
It is occasionally misused when people think that it represents one finger which only serves to demean the usefulness of the phrase by actually trying to define what it means in using it to convey a meaning.

Thanks Raegoul, I've incorporated the material you suggested in my "Origin" post. :)
I'd have called them Argonauts.
The -naut ending comes from the Latin "nauta" meaning sailor or traveler.
As the Argonnessen server is not on a ship or otherwise traveling and the DDO players who use that server are not physically traversing the innards of the server itself, Argonauts is definitely not appropriate.
The best plans are dynamic not static.
Some plans have a loose framework.
Some plans evolve out of responses to other plans.
Some plans do not produce what you specifically intend but may still achieve your goal.
Knowing what your plan's desired outcomes are requires patience and manipulation.
Blueprints are a communication tool designed to inform people what the plan is but they never ever match what is actually built.
Hallo Willkommen
Hi Welcome started on Argonessen when some noob joined the party and typed it in party chat, as if both saying hello and welcoming himself to the party. He proved to be quite a noob during the quest.
It caught on immediately and was used as a joke on Argo for a while before it made it to the forums, where it has become somewhat of a phenomenon.
It's almost as if you didn't read the thread Asp. The bit about the noob was interesting though.
Well, I linked him here. :D
Someone should post this out to Urban Dictionary so the infection can spread.
