Agreed, those rates seem punitive. The goal is to be able to fix characters.
Frankly, it's looking a lot like Turbine is pulling the cartoonish dollar signs/slot machine trick where they're focused on revenue. It's unmistakeable that the reincarnation option is intended to all players to correct mistakes or fix issues that arise from game mechanic changes.
True Reincarnation achieves the same results, but actually grants significant bonuses (past life, 34 & 36 build points) that can't be acquired in ANY other fashion. True Reincarnation is a new feature - it can rate a significant fee...lesser/greater including class changes should not.
Ack! 100 respective 200 points for the +3 would be acceptable. But at this cost Lesser and Greater are by no means attractive at all. There still is only the question to use the toon as mule or simply TR it and grind through all levels.Quote:

It's all about the Benjamins. This whole respec is all a money making scheme, you notice it was never implented before the store. Now we have to pay for their mistakes as well, just have the option of money instead of time.

a full respec is long overdue! The options right now are RIDICULOUS expensive and dont even allow of alignement changes, something even an moderately average DM would have no prtoblems to do.
I'd make them as cheap as possible, just increase the timers till you can use one again. However, that's a lose/lose on the revenue front - cheaper and less frequent.Quote:

I have to disagree with you on this one.
I have to say that I am actually happy with high prices for reincarnations of all types. Here are three reasons why:
1. The unforgiving nature of character building in this game was always something that actually appealed to me greatly. I spent a long time trying to fix mistakes I made on the original versions of some of my toons before TR came out. It provided an impetus for me other than just "I must have every toon be perfect"
2. It would make completionist (if it is in fact eventually added) much easier to simply level up an easy to level toon like a cleric or fighter 11 times and then LR +3 a few times to make it a bard or something before TR for the past life feats.
3. It also is, in my mind, part of D+D that the DM rarely does things exactly as you would expect or want them to.
I do however, strongly agree that people who have been in the game a long time should get AT LEAST a LR+3, maybe a LR+10 or something for free, one time, to fix things about their build that were changed not due to their own mistakes, but changes in game mechanics (how many old evasion in heavy armor builds are languishing out there?). They have given free items to ppl in the past when updates came out, so the precedent is there for such a thing,.
They are currently at a price point where it is more attractive for me to just spend the TP on a True Reincarnation instead of wasting my points on a Lesser. Or possibly just doing enough epic content for a free True Reincarnation if that is still available.
