Loot from U57 dropping?

Ran one of the new quests (The Hand and the Eyes - Legendary version) last night 3 times on Elite.

The first time I ran it without an Elixir of Discovery running. Got to the end chest and re-rolled the loot 3 times (4x33% chance for named loot total) and no named loot appeared.

For the second run, I drank a +10% Elixir of Discovery right before opening the end chest. I re-rolled twice. On the second re-roll (third 43% chance to pull a named item) an Eye of Dolurrh <sp?> dropped. I didn't re-roll and took it.

On the third run, the +10% Elixir of Discovery had about 45 mins left on it when I got to the end chest. I re-rolled three times (4x43% chance for named loot total) and, again, no named loot appeared.


My question is what are people seeing as far as loot drop frequency is concerned?

Is it possible the % chance to pull named loot has been dropped significantly or is it the sucky RNG?

I ran it twice yesterday and once this morning on Elite and named loot and augments dropped for both me and my guildmate in every chest except "Court" (where only he got something and I got nothing but trash and the coveted healing packs).

We were not using any elixers.

Ran the chain just once on R10 and eye of risia dropped for me. I saw several items drop for others. Of all the things I saw the eye is the only thing I would use as nothing had set bonuses and would break up a set bonus I had.

We explored most of the dungeons including side paths. I didn't see named items drop in any of the side path chests.

I didn't have an elixir running and didn't reroll.

I haven't run the new chain yet, but my wife and I can play chain after chain where she gets something every-other chest or so and I get nothing.

It's gotten to the point for me that any named item drop is a cause for celebration.

Ive had quite a bit drop. No loot boots, on elite about 10 or 12 runs total (most quests I did once one I did twice and another 3 times)

Got 2 named rings, 2 named augments, 1 goggles, 1 cloak

12 runs, 6 items.

I did some more runs earlier today and got two different rings and Thirteen which is really what I wanted.

Looks like it was just some bad luck with the RNG last night.

Has anybody seen the augments drop in anything except the end chest of each quest?

Also, do we know if both chests at the end of Order in the Court count as end chests?

Yesterday I ran all of Sharn, parts one and two and finished the saga and did not receive 1 piece of named gear doing the entire thing on R4. Not one piece of named gear in all those quests looting every chest.

I do not reroll chests for astral shards as I believe that is not adventuring, but gambling, and I am not here to gamble;

- I ran the quests and the chests should have a reward for me that isn't junk.
I would like to see the actual % of named loot drop - whatever the wiki says is wrong. its not 33% +1% per R1; its more like 10% + 10% per reroll seems more accurate.

And while I am on suspect topics - what was the reason we were all not granted a lesser heart of wood on each toon for free to fix our broken builds as a result of the last update? now that the imbue and hit point changes have ruined every previous build? My paladin, my warlock, my inquisitor - all borked. My warlock dmg is so bad now I believe in legendary its unplayable.

Your math is off. For the first run it should be (1-33%)^4 or about 20% chance of nothing dropping.

For your third run the equation is (1-43%)^4 or about 2% chance of nothing dropping.

Since you did get 1 item and others got several items I would say you are on the unlucky side.

I definitely agree with this. On one of my toons named gear never seems to drop not matter what Reaper level or buffs i have running, but on other toon's named loot can drop upto 60% of the time it seems. I remember reading a post a few years ago were they had a theory. That when you created a character it was given an algorithm, which dictated how lucky the character was at getting named loot. After playing this game for many years i truly believe this is the case. It might not be what Turbine intended when they first created the game, but unfortunately after many tests and speaking to many players over the years i truly believe this algorithm exists.

This is why i was gutted when they changed catacombs from having named loot in the end rewards to having them randomly drop in chests. when running HC if i get unlucky with the toon i created, it mainly runs with none named gear, unless
i get lucky and someone passes over named loot to me.

I really wish DDO would start putting named items in the end reward lists, maybe after 5 runs. Its just frustrating when you see lots of other characters running around with all this named loot and your still running korthos island gear lol.

It wouldn't be too bad if the no named gear was nearly as good as the named gear, but with named gear having multiple effects and set bonuses it really does lag far behind. The only saving grace is if you build your toon correctly than you can pretty much run any content without having too much gear (obviously if your a new player relying on the pre-built paths i think you will probably struggle).
