Windows 8.1 microsoft visual c++ 2005 sp1 redistributable package x64

This downloads and installs every time I launch DDO. I have downloaded microsoft visual c++ 2005 sp1 redistributable package x64 directly from Microsoft and installed it as administrator to no avail. This has been happening for about a week now and I have never had this problem before. The game runs ok but it's a nuisance.

Im installing ddo to another computer and having same problem. Do we have solutions for this issue?

I guess if it doesn't have an impact on many more people nothing is really done about it. They have so much to worry about repairing. I guess as long as it continues to work we should be happy. I did send Tech Support a few emails and got a few generic responses but nothing that might actually solve the problem.

also been having this issue for a while now, since i installed ddo on this computer which i bought recently. only difference for me is its 2005 package x86.

tried run as admin, no dice.

tried uninstalling any microsoft visual c++ redistributable packages that were on my computer and then running ddo, 2010 version was reinstalled, no dice.

tried downloading vcredist_x86.exe and repairing the 2010 version, no dice.

tried double clicking turbineregistergdf, all that happened was instead of: click launcher icon -> dl/install c++ 2005 -> launcher closes, reopens -> dl/install c++ 2005 -> continue to log in; i now have: click launcher icon -> dl/install c++ 2005 -> continue to log in. but the c++ 2005 version doesnt appear to be on my computer.

havent been able to dig up any other solutions.
