GLOB Shards

Still require a LDS.

Does not require Soul Gems.

I'm pretty sure I have 200 or so of these things piled up somewhere from how often I like to use TtS in Amrath. And still, they remain useless... *sigh*

It already requires a BtA, end-reward based item that comes from level 16 quests (and sadly, only the quest, not the Raids. HoX/VoD/Shroud would benefit from having these in the End Rewards).

So if it's already requiring a specific item like that, why does it also need to cost 500k+ Plat to craft a single one?

Suggestion : Change 1 LDS -> 5 Strong Soul Gems : Essence of the Dominator.

Thoughts?

IMHO, no Cannith crafting recipe should need an ingredient from any other type of crafting recipe. I just don't see any reason for it and I doubt that I will change my opinion on that.

Change it from the ******** Large Devil Scales to something more reasonable like Large Gnawed Bones or Large Splintered Horns.

Or better yet… give us 4 recipes. Level 65 = Large Devil Scale, Level 70 = Large Splintered Horn, Level 75 = 5 Soulgems (Per your suggestion), Level 80 = Large Gnawed Bone.

Wholly agree.

It's like mixing oil and water, it just doesn't work for me.

Cannith is Cannith, Shroud is Shroud.

Also, it's not like those Soul Gems would be cheap to make, since each would require its own Average Khyber Dragonshard, and those are slow to grind, or at least expensive to crunch from purchased Tinys.

I still don't like mixing two different crafting types...but this does seem somewhat reasonable. It would not hurt me to have multiple recipes to produce the same result.

I don't see anything wrong with the LDS. It would be nice if the Horns had more uses, but a LDS seems a reasonable cost for a greater bane.

If you add up the cost of the LDS and all the ingredients that would go into the MinII crafted alternative it will now approach the price of buying the MinII larges. That's not a good thing.

The crafting of even a +5 Holy Silver of GLOB, more less +5 HBSoGLOB, would exceed 600k plat.

Yeah, it's a nice weapon. For Devils.

And yes, I'm well aware that LDS can drop from more than Shroud. Devil Assault Elite/Epic, Amrath flagging quests + ToD Part 3.

More often than not, when faced with those chests, people find:
No ingredients
Small ingredients
Large Bones.

If having them in DA/Amrath/ToD made such a difference, then the market price would have gone down when these chests started spawning them. Funny, I've only seen their market value go... up?

I couldn’t think of any specific collectible that devils drop. If we were talking Chaotic outsiders there would have been a recipe with 50 Planar Spoors.

I think Yaga nailed it when he used the word “need”. We shouldn’t “need” an arcane caster to do our crafting dirty work. We shouldn’t “need” to own specific adventure packs to get through a crafting level. That’s not to say that the devs shouldn’t give Arcanes and Adventure Packs additional flexibility in levelling out crafters. It just shouldn’t be the only way to do it.

Not everyone can make soul gems. They would make a bad ingredient to use.


I'd rather see Devil keepsakes instead of a LDS for GLOB, in analogy with demon's blood for GCOB.

Then also add following recipes to the altar of subjugation (shroud P3 / battlefield):
LDS + powercell + iron = keepsake
LDS + powercell + artifact = demon's blood

This should keep the boot parts fairly accessible despite the newfound crafting use, while maintaining their value. It also adds another use for the iron & artifact.

So you want them to remove an item EVERYONE (with the pack) can get in return for something only casters or those with a specific epic weapon can get.

NO!

I did like the idea of 60 = LDS, 65 = LTS, 70 =..... etc.

This ingredient doesn't make much sense to me, since it's already an extremely in demand ingredient for other recipes. Use some of the other ingredients that aren't in demand, you're just going to drive up the price of an already expensive ingredient.

As someone said to me on my Live version of this discussion thread, if your sole purpose for a Min II is Devils, you're doing it wrong.

That is to say, Min IIs have a lot more going for them than that.

Large Devil Scales are valuable, therefore it makes sense (to me) to use LDS as a reasonable ingredient use to make the best devil beater.

And yes, it is a nice weapon,for devils. Which make up a fairly decent percentage of the endgame.

Again, no one is forcing anyone to pay a LDS for a devil beater. Holy of Bane will work perfectly well if someone doesn't want to fork out a single LDS per weapon.

Cheap is a bit of an exaggeration. Other Larges still hold value. Soul Gems still hold value. Certainly, the 200+Greaters and 1000+Lesser Essences that go into Craftable +14 and a +5 HBSoGLOB hold value.

Pretending that the Scale is the only thing of value is putting on Horse Blinders.

I agree with this.

The way i look at is i could choose to make a Min II for 24 larges or i can spend some essences, silver and cold iron weapons and 1 large scale and 1 blood for a different DR Breaker.

Both have advantages and in my opinion the Min II is more expensive but that is because i dont consider the essences required for leveling in the equation because its a 1 time cost and even without greater banes people would still level up crafting.

Or they can make HB of LOB and still do good damage. If they want to fork over for one of those pots, which I would in a second because I already have someone with 400 SF favor. :)

Well obviously we need to have hundreds of gems, soul gems, and bones to serve no purpose other than to sit in bags.

Seriously, there should be a purpose for these items. As it is, I feel there has been a distinct lack of thought behind these decisions. But what can you expect from the team that originally thought that a chattering ring would be a good ingredient for a purge the heretics beater.

I disagree entirely. Which is to rephrase as follows:

If your purpose for a MinII is not soley Devils and Demons, you're doing it wrong.

MinII is great for breaking boss devil/demon DR. For everything else, there's LitII.
And for devil/demon DR, there's crafting.
